I have notified all our first team players of the link to sign up for the server... and hopefully they should be on there tomorrow night...:)

I will e-mail them a link to all the rules as well... Just to make sure their integration from Deathmatch kill seekers to team players goes smoothly, I don't want them hashing anything up for you guys.

There is still some problems with the mailing list at crosswired so at the moment you can't sign up that way. What you could do is that you mail our admins@deadmen.co.uk and ask if they could set your friends up.

As for me I don't have the power to do that.

Tell your friends to read about PCS and lookin at the map boundaries before starting to play. Will work out more smoothly then.

Yes, I have done. Inzane was moritified when he saw the map boundaries...:) (He's a born rusher)

I have told them all to send an e-mail to the admins to get themselves set up.

with the routing in place we have 10Mbit/s for the clan.... its more a matter of how deep our pockets are :-)

what for the extra bandwith so that we can bring back the old homer as well? as that will b an ongoing cost per year? the ol' boyo will still b able to support a 16player server or summin wouldnt he? [i think 16player server would be prefured by some of us ne way

Homer is no more. I believe Stryker found a good home for him. 8)

If we were to consider another box then it would be everyone digging deep again I'm afraid.

If, and only if, we think it's the way to go.

We are concentrating our efforts on best utilising our current facilities before we look into increasing the number of available servers.

Let's just say it's on the back-burner at the moment.

You might want to bear in mind that I have a brand new boxed AMD 2100 CPU. If you do decide to set up another server and you think it's up to the job, I'd be willing to donate it to the cause. Let me know if you ever decide to  do it and are OK with AMD as opposed to Intel

its nice to see that players are still willing to donate even after last time.
tbh if u weigh  up the amount that playing CS saves u on goign down the pub every night then its a huge saving, even if u factor in the cost of the tipple while playing

Yes there is a wonderful sense of togetherness.... :-)

blackadder is now running two games servers yes?  well if we were at one of them games hosting comps we'd have 8 games on a server of blackadder's spec!!!  really I know they do that!

So we could poss have another one running blackadder and still not suffer lag.  At this time blacky is hosting the dmw website but not the forum.  It would be nice if it hosted the forum too so DMW are independant..... its not a resource hog (not too much) hosting the forums......

I'd better start backing up the forum database too eh?  :biggrin:
