Hi guys. I'm coming to the OctoberLAN and would like to know if any of you guys have a spare computer (or could set 1 up for the LAN). I need 1 for myself and for my twinbro if possible (otherwise we'll try and use the same one but 2 would be cool).
Last time Zok had one for me which he got back in the state he borrowed it to me.
Please let me know guys (you'll receive something for letting me use it, mostly beer and a present).
I'm bringing along my keyboard, headset and mouse myself.

I've got two machines that may - or may not be suitable - I'll leave it to you to decide....
1. This one is probably OK.......
A PIII 800mhz with 512RAM and a GeForce Ti 4200 graphics card. No monitor
2.
A PIII 750mhz with 512mb ram but with only a TNT2 riva card which, I guess, means it good for bugger all except for running ms Word. The monitor is the same. This would probably be OK is someone has a spare video card you could borrow? ONLY GOT ONBOARD SOUND (AC97)
These machines are used by my staff so I really need them back working for Monday! :)
I'm happy to bring them if that would help (i'm sure it'll all fit in the landrover!)....
The only other caveat I have is that I won't arrive until mid-afternoon on Friday and I'll have to leave around lunchtime on Sunday.....

Well, your ariving time doesn't matter at all, last time I helped others out with unloading and enjoying myself at the bar. Define lunchtime ;) . My plane will probably go back at night again. My flighttimes have yet to be booked but their probably going to be the same as last 2 times I've went.

Thanks m8. It all depends offcourse when TL and so are going to set up the game round on Sunday but last time it ended allready around that time aswell.

We'll probably run the same schedule as the last one. I'll be there setting up from about 10am on Friday, people start arriving about 11am. The organised gaming sessions are likely to be during the day on Saturday and the final on Sunday morning.

I'm only going to be able to bring one monitor to the Lan at most as I've remembered I need to drop Claire and the twinnies off to her mums en-route to the LAN weekend. They're babysitting for them.... It's the monitors that's a killer
Anway please let me know as and when whether tou want me to bring one.... (I doubt the 2nd one with the RIVA TNT card would be much good anyway).

Hi guys. Back again on topic, Ice his plane and so is sorted now, he 's coming in the same plane as us (my twinbro and me).
My computer is yet to be sorted with a Gcard but I'll arange that in a few weeks for now.
I'll bring my own keyboard, mouse (with a wire offcourse) and Nostromo and hopefully my new shiny Gcard and an extra HardDrive.
Norm or someone else with some computer knoweledge (probably spelled wrong), which would be the best computers that I can use from these offers (I need 2, one for me and one for my twinbro, looks like Ice needs a case to put it all in)? I could bring some extra RAM aswell that I've bought from Norm if it helps. I've orderd a Gcard which I could bring hopefully.

A friend of mine just found a nice videocard for me, a ATI RADEON 9600 128Mb and it costs 55 Euro, second hand but it should be okay for BF2 and my computer.
Could it be possible to take it along with me to the LAN and install it in one of the rigs so I can play BF2 aswell?

Got a spare MB, 1800xp, 512mb DDR ram and a geforece 4 mX 400. Usual stuff like win XP. If it would be help to anyone I can knock it together and bring it along, no monitor though.
I could bring my old Nvidia 5600 128mb card - don't think I have any other useful spares though (it ran bf2 on my xp2400+ machine pretty well. nothing fancy, but at least it worked! probably bring it as a spare in any case...)

I'm bringing: ATI RADEON 9600 128Mb but I need an AGP-slot for it. I'm also buying 1GB (2 x 512) Kingston pc3200 (KVR400X64C3A) from Dingo so it should be there aswell. I'm also bringing RAM that I bought from Norm a few months ago (512 of DDR RAM).
For the rest I'm bringing along my own keyboard and mouse and Nostromo N52. Oh yeah, I'm also bringing an hard disc in an HDDcase (small 1) from a friend of mine so I can ehrm "borrow" stuff. My twinbrother will also bring his own mouse and keyboard.

According to Norm:
JB's xp1800 with your 9600 and lots of ram should get you in.These are right on borderline min specs so no gaurantees m8. :D
...and make sure your hard drive is "de-crapped" :D
BF2 hates fragmented and up to the gunnels in sh** H/D's. :yes:

I have a 2.26p4 512mb ram unit but dont think it will play many games with windows server on it..... Well if worst comes to it....
I'd make sure you have the drivers available for all components (both of you bring them) as you never know when Windows will fail to find one that's already on the HDD. As I know from painful experience :(
