Anyone use a Radeon 9800 Pro and have updated their drivers recently?
I'm struggling to find drivers for mine so a point in the right direction would be great.
Thanks
PEN
Tried downloading them direct from ATI (https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27)?
I hear tell the omega drivers might be quite good...
http://www.omegadrivers.net/ (http://www.omegadrivers.net/)
I plan to give them a go I think :D

Right click on your desktop and select properties from the menu. In the new window go to the settings tab then select advanced. In the Nvidia or Ati tab you will find the information.

Use a 9800Pro and Omega drivers.........sorted!! :D
I am still a moderately satisified user of a 9800 Pro, no problems here (other than wanting a new gfx card to cope with the scary requirements of current newer games)
TL.
Until yesterday I was a frustrated 9800pro user...
I bought the card to allow me to just about play all the latest games at decent res perhaps with a few extras turned on without the rest of my system being too much of a bottleneck. Up until yesterday the ati drivers were setting my AGP slot to "off" and although the card still operated I got mediocre performance in BF2. Lag and jerkiness at any resolution when I turned on a few of the games graphics features, however framerates were okay at 1280x960, apart from the lagging. By turning off a lot of the graphics extras and putting the rest on low I was able to play almost lag-free at 1280.
Last night I sorted out my motherboard chipset's AGP drivers and it's back up to 8x with all the extra AGP settings turned back on. What a difference! BF2 is now pretty smooth at medium graphics settings plus the res turned up to 1024x768@100Hz. I'm going to try out 1280 again with the medium settings. May even test out those omega drivers...
Do the omega drivers work okay with the AIW cards? I broke everything last time I tried to reinstall drivers, took a while to remove all 3 copies of each program. In fact I think I still have multiple instances of parts of the ati drivers running...ho-hum
I am using the Omega drivers with my AIW and they are fine :D
updated my drivers for 9800 pro........ended up having to unistall the dam thing..
everything went WIERD.......... :tumbleweed:
So it's true, PC's do become like their owners' :D
im also using 9800 pro...but with ati drivers itself.... :D ..never had any probs...
Omega drivers any good.???

you kill me dingo......... :eyebrow:
Watch out for the most recent Catalysts - they had some issue where my 9800pro kept overheating and causing VPU Recover to kick in. Rolling back to earlier ones fixed things right up.
