Well, modern technology finally caught me up.
My old faithful Compaq P70 monitor (17" Trinitron tube) has been replaced with a Benq fp737s-d.
Now I just need the DVI-D cable and I'm away.
Silly sod didn't look first, discovered there's more than one breed of DVI cable. The hunt begins tomorrow.

I didn't know that either! What types of DVI cable can you get then?
I just use the DVI cable that came with my monitor
Think you would need a DVI-D Cable Single Link 19 pin config which will give you a max res of 1280x1024 and 85hz freq.
Or the higher grade cable DVI-D Double link version with 25 pin config which supports higher resoluton and higher frequency think i use this one for my tv.

The monitor has a DVI-D double connector, so I'm now trawling for one o'dem.
My 6600GT has a DVI-I double connector, but DVI-D will fit that too.
