In case you hadn't noticed I shit-canned DA's ebay goods post and dumped it into Compost Corner. Please do likewise if you see similar ebay-whoring posts.
I have also made the 'terms of use' for the Exchange default to visible rather than just offering a url link to them.

What post was that?
The one he mentioned about the memory?

Ooooh I've always wanted to look in there. No reason just bloody nosy :D
Yes it was his RAM post. He didn't reply, so it got shit-canned.
And I've just read his other thread about the mobo that BB got from him. BB, I have edited your final post to slightly correct the goods I had received from him - it was both the CPU and the mobo that were in a dastardly state :(
I do not want dMw to become an easy route for a less than straight with you member to dump secondhand Ebay goods onto other members for cash. Gifts are fine, but I tightened up The Exchange Rules recently to cater for the potential for a git to post and dupe another member.
My own experiences with DA's 'sales' are that they are a commercial trade and that he is flogging off 'very used' goods, cleaning them up a bit (both mobos had been carefully cleaned - but not carefully enough as I could tell that they were very used) and then selling them as "never used, they've just sat in a box". He has also verbally confirmed to me at the last LAN (I timed my question for one of his more innebriated moments) that he does buy things cheap from Ebay and then sells them on at a profit - hence why he seems to have a steady stream of goods to sell.
Personally I would never buy from him again as I feel he has badly abused my trust and not replied to my posts when a problem arose. You can read my comments in this thread (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8603&st=0) to get a flavour for my concerns.
All Admins should feel free to post questions in threads if they feel they are potentially dubious (like my below comments) and then to take appropriate action if they do not get a response. Both Oldbloke and I will fully support any Admin who helps keep our community clean in this respect.

DarkAngel - what's the source of this memory please?
If it is Ebay'd or second user sourced stock (as it has been in the past) where you were not the original purchaser then you should please state this in your posting as per the Rules of the Exchange (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?act=SR&f=80). For the avoidance of doubt I have edited the forum settings to show the full text of the forum rules rather than only the link to the rules.
Can you confirm the source please? If you do not reply within 24 hours this thread will be deleted.

Smite: Yes your mobo can take 1GB modules, but non-branded memory is not officially supported - see the Abit website for supported memory options)

With the memory i thought that it was from his machine.
The 512 mb were bars he had in his machine before he tried to add the 4 GB.
His system would not recognise 4Gb so he tried to sell 2Gb he just bought. Now im still trying to see the issue with this.
What am i missing here, the fact that someone is selling an item that they do not have records of where they bought it from?
or and im sorry but this is all im seeing, have a go at DA.
Not having a go at all - but I asked him where it was from (I didn't know it was from his old system and still don;t know that from DA) and he didn't answer. As per the rules of the forum topic the topic was deleted (moved to Compost Corner). It just happened to coincide with another thread involving BB which prompted the reminder of the froum rules. This is what he posted:

If the RAM was legit then the post would have stayed. But he never replied. Kind of like he never replied to the thread I had problems with. What else am I to assume?

Fair point.
I wanted to point out where the RAM came from as he mentioned it in the posts regarding 2Gb making a big difference to BF.

I appreciate the info Smite and I do recall the post now you mention it. Unfortunately I didn't remember it when I made my post and my previous experience of DA's sales led me to be suspicious. The RAM's quite probably fine - I am sure you are already in contact with him anyway, but as he didn't reply the thread got composted.

Nah the TANGO sold it already :ranting:
Smite,
I know that you are trying to be even handed with DA and I respect that. I am not "trying to have a go" however. My post did start in a (i thought) humerous way as I had found the useless motherboard in a cupboard when doing a clean out. It was useless because DA couldn't find the backplate, I had to keep chasing him to find out if he had found it because he would tell me he would do it on Saturday and by the next wednesday i would have heard nothing and I would have to chase to see what was happening. Without the backplate the motherboard is susceptible to incorrect cooling and possible EMC issues. Additionally, there was no way on gods little green earth that this motherboard was "brand new never out of the box". It was old, the box was old and bashed about, the pins were bent and the back riser with USB/NIC was bent. This happened about a year ago and I wrote it off to my own niaivety. If I had wanted to have a go at DA I would have done so at the time. IIRC I posted in the admin forum to raise my concerns but did nothing publicly and to this day I regret that I didn't do more because then DA wouldn't be in the position he is now where people don't trust him.
Now this is my main point, this community runs on trust and cooperation. I no longer trust a member of Charlie Company and I can think of nothing sadder. Sadly, dMw is about the only thing I have left in my life that is good and I will NOT allow anybody, DA or anyone else, to jeapordise the community trust system. it doesn't matter that it was DA, if it had been you then I would have acted the same. It just so happens it was DA, IMHO it has happened too often to be accidental, he doesn't follow through on promises and despite me telling him of the damage to the board in one of my PMs at the time he denies being told.
I assure you, and I absolutely give you my word, that I am not "having a go" at DA. Hopefully you can accept my word. If you cannot then the trust in the community is broken beyond anything I can hope to fix.
Regards,
Mike aka BB
That shot me down in flames Didn't it.
I closed the topic yesterday because it was turning into an argument and trying to entice the other person into a response also winding the other up. Something nobody really wanted to see.
DA....... What can i say. I still see him as being a kid and needing some leniency but he isn't anymore. I have been in this clan for a long time now and known Darkangel / Deathwarrant as that spotty young kid for over (i think) 5 years.... he was a kid then at 15.
He is big enough to fight his own battles now.
Mick.

You were right to close the topic. It was getting a bit out of hand and as an admin I should have known better. My post went in after you closed it - I guess I had been typing and editing while you had closed the thread. DA was a bit pissed at me in a PM he sent. Scratch that he was very pissed at me. I did offer to open the thread to let him post or to post anything he sent to me completely untouched.
However he declined and starting calling himself all sorts of stupid swears as if we had used the words. I won't post here what he said but it made me sorry for him. This whole thing has been down to perceptions, my perception of DA is that he is a bit of an Arthur Daly, no worse than that. His perception is that we all think he is a cheat, liar, scum etc and those were the polite words he used. That saddens me too :(
TBH it would be much better if we could "repair" him and make him a more useful member of the community but I think that would be difficult TBH
