Match Notes:
Unfortunately these guys were just too good for us in the night....they nearly always waited until the literally the very last seconds before rushing into the bomb site with plenty of smoke and flashes and planting as the timers flashing its head off in red !!! AS T we very quickly rushed into a 6 - 1 lead ..only for them to pull it back to a draw as we turned round ....from then on we were pulled apart as CT ..they really have done their homework on dust2 and it showed ...they knew EXACTLY how long to wait before rushing as the timer was ticking down ....JB had a superb round to finish off 3 of their guys and then defuse ....(think VV said that JB had used his last bullet killin the last one) ...nice one JB
Yeah.. we were all over them the first 6 rounds...then they flipped a switch and there was nothing we could do.
They say on ED they ONLY play dust 2...and it showed.
AWP whores :ranting:
So, was Doris sick? Or did he had beer again ;)
For the rest, unlucky guys but I would like to hear a bit more about their tactics if possible.
Looks like a good game to miss. ul guys.
QuoteI would like to hear a bit more about their tactics if possible.
It appeared they split up at the start of every round and tried to pick us off...using smoke as cover. Then theyd regroup and rush with 30seconds left.
It was hard to call because you didnt know wether they were just trying to distract or actually coming at you to plant.
and Doris said he wasnt playing very well...but it was a tough team. He was aalso trying to use the AWP :eyebrow: , we really need to practice witht that gun.

I know. I'm crap with that gun aswell because on the most servers we play on you can't use it. I think I'll start a sniperpratice for myself as I don't use them alot.
Was a good game I thought, showed there's always another option than rush rush rush... They had plans and stuck to them, often waiting for us to stand out from our hiding places only to be promptly dispatched.
AWP's are fun to use but are far from a 'buy one and win' type gun, you need the plans behind it too. :)
But they do make a difference. :narnar:
In matchplay the basic rush isn't used too much, the best idea my old clan came up with (and did pretty well with) was to spread across the map & try to pick a couple of the other team off - pretty much the same by the sounds of it as the opposition last night. It makes taking a site alot easier if you know theres only 3 opponants left rather than 5, as you can be pretty sure that your only gonna meet 2 guys usually as 1's gotta cover the other site (usually)
As for defending, well, just keep your head out the way I guess, even if you can't see them, the other team usually give themselves away with nades or noise.
terrible match for me, sorry guys ... tough opposition
I was about ready for throwing the mouse away then kicking my computer in ...

;)
Just watched the HLtv of this match...well most of it. :frusty:
As Ts:
Our first 6 rounds we did well because its what we practice on Meathook. I think we shocked them, they didnt think that we'd all be together. Rushing from the off.
after the 6 rounds we got predictable. We were doing the same thing just in different places (shortA, longA, B.)
As CTs:
We were lost, because again on MH we practice the whole team rushing. They shocked us. they split up and seemed to plant the bomb as an after thought. I can only think of it as playing against public players that were cautious.
Our down fall is playing one way. Which is OUR way. I think we need to look at different methods of playing in Practice sessions.
Also mix it up a bit, we won the first 6 round EASILY but then they knew what were were likely to do. we should maybe try different tactics after ,say, 5 rounds.
These players were noi better than us, their tactics were just not we expect.
I dont think they used in game chat. :ranting: I saw one of their comms flash up once in the 14th round.
Thats why we should really look into getting ts2!
So useful to tell your team m8s where they are once ur dead!
What tactics were u using as CT ?
Erm...can i divert your attention to this: TS2 (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10570)
As cts we had
B: Doris and JB
LongA: VV
ShortA: Me
Middle: MAD_ness
We stuck to the bombsites, until either someone called "theyre rushing!" or the people at the bombspot died.
I can send you the HLtv if you like Red.

HLTV is very buggy as to who it actually records, quite often in the past i've seen absolutely no voices at all the entire match, even though it was a match i've played in myself and knew exactly what was said and when.
Myself i'm not as fussed as I used to be about winning, so long as the game's exciting and not totally 1 sided then it's all good fun.
Would be nice to see something apart from rush, rush, rush all the time though. :D

Next time I'm playing just play close attention. You'll see rush, die, rush, die, rush, die etc which you must admit is different to rush, rush, rush ;)
