I'm not even sure that being connected to the same internet is safe. What if Sheepy's electrons come all the way up to Scotland? Nimda Virus? Huh! What about the Sheepy Virus :-)

I'm sure each of us has a part pf a PC that we are not in cosmic tune with. Over and over it is that one bit that causes us problems, breaks and generally mucks about. Maybe it's our star signs or something?

For Sheepy it apears to be sound equipment. For me it's motherboards. I am on my gazillionth motherboard. I know you have to upgrade them now and again but I blow them up we regular and gay abandon  8O
However, my kill rate is a lot lower now that I use plastic cable ties for securing wires etc. I used to use wire bread bag ties. This led to several electrical shorts and one small fire. I can thoroughly not recommend then for any application in you PC...stick to plastic.
