Just wondered if anyone had any prefernce as far as nationality goes in BF2 - I do know a few people who prefer not to play the USA on principal.

But let's not get into politics shall we.

I like the MEC side myself - mainly because the maps are great, the weapons are interesting and I like the clunky Vodnik thing! Hee hee..

It's like a Ford Tranny with a gun!

I suck playing either side :)

USMC 'cause the Medic's rifle has automatic fire whereas the MEC only has 3-shot burst (I think)

I prefer the usmc weapons slightly I think, but then perhaps the linebacker from, er, mec? over the us aa...

I don't really have a preference.  I think each side/class has strengths and weaknesses.

I prefer the USMC AT rocket (cos it's guided), but the MEC SMG (cos it's got a larger magazine)

The MEC/Chinese Eryx is also wire-guided, but you have to hold down the left-mouse button after firing to do it.  The AT rocket on the APCs can also be guided, to a lesser extent, the same way (except you hold the right-mouse button down for that one).  I've no idea why they decided to make the USMC rocket work different.  :blink:

I don't care which side I end up on.  Out of the three I suppose I like the Chinese the least.   Their firearms just seem a bit naff, and their heavy jeep is like a VW camper van (sounds like one too).

Yep - they got the real crappy end of the stick when weapons were handed out.

And thier heavy jeep! Geeeeeezzzz!

The first time I tried that on dMw I was riding along and took a shallow hill...The bleeding thing tipped over like it had three wheels or something!

...Embarrassing enough, but then someone said over voice comms "That's why we don't ride that!".

Does the Chinese Army REALLY ride those things???

EDIT: Just looked it up - and yes the daft buggers do!

In order of preference:

USMC
MEC
PLA

But, that doesn't mean I'll always go for USMC. I just like the weapons better... I don't really care about politics when I'm playing a game...

I also tend to like the MEC maps better. More streetfights (outside the pubs) and nice scenics  :P
