Title: One thing I miss about Unreal Tornament!
Post by: Ranger on September 30, 2005, 11:04:22 AM
Wouldn't it be nice if game designers recognized that some people actually play for fun and add some fun audio calls on the comms rose!

For example...

Last night I had a fantastic killing spree which ended with me taking out 4 guys almost at once with the Vodnik MG when they were just taking our flag...

Now - in 'Unreal Tournament' they had a voice over that announced killing sprees (in a nice echoy voice). And it went up in degrees...

It started with a mildly loud 'MULTIKILL!'...

Then if your spee continues you get a very loud 'MEGAKILLS!!!" (Or something like that...)

AND THEN...If your rampage still continues you get the ultimate - ear-splitting - 'MONSTOR KILL-KILL-KILL-KILL!' (lots of echo)!

Now wouldn't that be fun?

;)

only have to make sure there's enough levels of it! I once got UT2K3 to the point where it was startnig to cycle/repeat the voice commentary (some map against bots where you could snipe them as they appeared out their spawn protection. Good snap-shooting practice :)

I second that. The other day we had a match and they had it on. We won big time from them and it was funny to hear... on other peoples servers that is.

I third it.  It encourages annoying frag-happy tick turds.

Make Benny and Doris skins, much better and really cool.

It's just as TL said, it attracks fraghunters. People will do alot to just hear that sound and will stop thinking about the objective.

Been there, done that, and grew further in the TacticalStyle...

Don't worry it was a joke...

I also liked the 'Redeemer' from UT - but despite the fun it would be watching it home in on Lib when he's bouncing up and down, I won't be writing to EA/DICE for them to include it in the 1.03 patch!!!

I used to play Delta Force and that had a really cool feature where you could taunt your enemy audibly...one of my favourite passtimes was sniper hunting, when I'd tracked 1 down I'd sneak up behind him, press the Taunt key which would go "Pssst!" then I'd slide the knife in

Could have used that for Liberator last night...

"Pssst! Look behind you!"

LOL

Only kidding Lib - I'm only making a thing about it because I don't often catch you out like that!

No doubt you'll get me back twice-fold next time.
