Does BF2 save hardware settings?
The reason i ask i have changed MB, CPU and Ghpx card but saved the BF2 folder in my documents from old system. When i went onto BF last night with old setup it was laggy and jerky but no one else had any issues so i dropped Res to 1152x864 and it seemed to run better but still slightly jerky once in a while. Now i shouldn't have had to drop res when upgrading.....So does anyone know of any way of doing a system check in BF?
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and delete all files/folders in that location. When you next load a map the files will be created to match your new system :)
Luberly :D

When I first got BF2 it wouldn't let me assign keys I wanted saying they were "in use" so I went hunting for a file containing the key mappings. When I found it I found lots of other files too. I needed to create a new profile because I had forgotten to add -=[dMw]=- to the front of my name and I realised that when I created a new profile it created a new set of folders. One thing lead to another and before you knew it she was 6 months pregnant ;)
Ooops, wrong forum :narnar:

:withstupid: Except for the pregnancy.
Certain keys were annoying me, I changed the crouch key but in the vehicles is stays as 'ctrl' and there were no options to change them, so I edited the file.
Moved the demo settings into the full game and did the new profile copying as well.
Then I just got curious over the files in the main directories and started playing with the level zips.
