Thanks to Smite for the d/l link last night...it really speeded things up :D

The instal was a bit of a nail biter.....it seemed to hang for ages with the hdd LED full on...

once installed I got a silly little window/link from EA which went nowhere....and then the server refresh went all coy and wouldn't show me any servers for a minute or two...

anyway, I eventually found dMwBF2 and loaded up in record time (3 mins) which is a vast improvement on what I was getting...I wonder whether it's the patch, the new map or something else?

Wake Island is very familiar to me from BF1942 and has a real Pacific island feel about it...I don't know how they've acheived this, but it is very clever...Capping the beach flag last night...I took my boots off and had a nice paddle while the flag changed :P

The flag names on the map is really handy for navigating and comms...you can now refer to "south base" instead of "the one on the end of the left bit"

I tried out the "vehicle damage to self" fix by running into Tanks...it seems to be fine, with minimal damage caused (enough to say "don't stand there"

anyone else notice much difference?

I can now play without turning off F@H.
The main gun on the tanks is much closer to 1 shot 1 kill esp if you aim at the tracks of another tank.
I still can't fly - it just rolls on its back in less than 3 seconds :(

If it worked anything like the first patch then i'd have to think your suicidal.
