I started online gaming with CS some (many) years ago. I got tired of fragfesting and TKing pretty quick. The years went by, and I bought BF1942. Great fun! I actuallyt found som servers that played ok. Not teamplay, but they didn't shoot their teammates (much). I then went on with the expansion packs.
Still, I became tired of these games pretty quick - never played for more than a month or so.
Then came BF2, and I thought I'd give it a go...
I went into one of the public servers. After getting shot by my own teammates for about 20 times (I never actually got shot by the enemy), I gave up driving the tank. I went by foot into the field.... not much better there - bunnyjumping, doplhindivin, you name it.
I then searched the internet for som eteambased servers. I found TG. Played there for a while, and started to enjoy myself. However, the gaming hours were a bit unconvenient, as I live in Norway... I asked the TG-guys on their forum if they knew ane decent BF2 server based in Europe. They did.
Guess what server it was.
The thing I really like about this community, is the relaxed attitude here. Just play teamoriented and do your best, and you'll be OK. Great fun!
great to have you onboard CH.
A big :dmw: welcome now polish that tag and get it sewn on :D
welcome to Bravo
Welcome to Bravo - have fun! :dmw:

Coolhand Luke was a very famous movie made in 1967, starring Paul Newman, (yes, the one who sells mayo) in which he plays the part of an inmate of a southern state jail(road gangs etc.). During the plot he undertakes a bet in which he reckons he can eat a hundred hard boiled eggs.
It's a classic movie and bears up extremely well today. Go get it somewhere. You'll thank me. 8)

I play a bit irregular. I'll install X-fire, as soon as I get around to it. However, I am on on most Sunday evenings. During the rest of the week, I don't have a schedule right now - I'm preparing for a black belt exam, and It's a loooooot of work.

Ranger made som service ribbons a while ago... here's a link to one of his posts: http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showt...0833&hl=ribbons (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10833&hl=ribbons)
Here's another one: http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showt...0879&hl=ribbons (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10879&hl=ribbons)
Now, if you look careful at the bottom of my posts, there should be a couple of these ribbons, one of them displays a dolphin, another one says AMD64.... the ribbon to the left is made up from a national flag... hint, hint... :D

I still think this thread is way off-topic. Now here's an idea: How about a thread which is named off-topic? We could write anything, as long as it was off-topic. But if it was offtopic, it wouldn't bee off-topic, it would be topic... utopic... utop... off-to.... aaaaaa..... DOGS! DOGS! Do you insinuate that the result was less than satisfactory...? hmmm...?
Speaking of contact lenses, anyone tried those monthly ones where you put them in at the start of each month, leave them in every day and every night, then take them out 30 days later? Cos I can't really afford to carry on with dailys, but equally cant be TANGO'd with the hassle of normal monthlies.

I used contacts for 15 years before taking til ICL surgery. I never tried the 24-hour lenses. However, I asked my eye surgeon about those kind of lenses. He is THE expert in his field, and I recon he knows a bit about contact lenses too.
He told me he would nto recommend that type of contacts, because the eye needs to rest from the contact lens. Otherwise, the eye might get irritated or damaged.
His recommendation was to wear dailys or two-weeks, but to take them out during the night, and also (if possible) have one lens-free day a week.
