... but I have to ask anyway.... have any of you guys tried Americas Army or the online Wolfenstein game? Both are free, as far as I know....
No, I won't quit BF2, I'm just wondering.
No, it will not happen again.
Yes I promise.
tried them both. Wolfenstein is a frag fest and not my scene. Americas army is much better than wolfenstein as you'll get some gameplay out of the others on the right servers.

I'll stick to BF2, I guess.
This is a good thread - as the BIG Guys were discussing this for LAN VIII...
What other games should we bring (not to suplant BF2 but to prat about with in between BF2 tournaments).
Dewey recommended 'Generals' (Command & Conquor')...
I suggested (sick puppy that I am) 'Postal 2' (free demo available) - mainly because of the shovel weapon and the comical 'CLANG!' sound it makes when you hit people in the head with it!
Postal 2: Share the Pain (http://www.gopostal.com/postal2/index.php)
:)
I am REALLY hoping Ghost Recon 3 will be out for the next LAN.
But we all agreed that some sort of 'no brainer' car racing game would be nice. Any suggestions?
(Anyone remember an old arcade racer called 'Tank Racer' - this is fun when you have had a drink! Demo: TR Demo download page (http://www.fileplanet.com/11061/10000/fileinfo/Tank-Racer))
We are bringing 4 games with us the next time, aside from BF2 (and remember, BF2 'Special Forces' is out in the meantime).
Anyone else come up with something fun and silly that will be a good laugh to play between other games at the next LAN???

Flatout - absolute corker, nothing quite like a dozen raving drunks trying to bash the poo out of each other in a demolition derby :roflmao:

We already have a racing team although it seems to have died a death slightly. The community favourite for a while was "Live for Speed" available at http://www.liveforspeed.net/ (http://www.liveforspeed.net/)
Mr Doorman is our resident expert for any questions on LFS.

motocross madness 2 turned into a winner before at the small lans I go to, particularly the "tag" mode, though just general racing was fun too :) midtown madness was pretty good as well for a no brainer racing game, just a pity the pedestrians always manage to get out of the way...

Ron!!! Ya got another convert!
Look for a server called Deadmen Racing - the good Mr Doorman runs it :)
jeep races in BF2 do it for me...
when you get bored you can shoot @ each other...
2up or 3up you can drop mines out the back....or fire Noob Tube etc....C4 takes skill tho..
we should do this more often

This looks good - and not to complex (not too 'simmy')...
I was a big fan of the TOCA race driving games - and my mates and I used to have little LAN tournaments. This was a good game because there were only a few keys to remember, which is great if you are drnking, and also because - being TOCA - it encouraged barging and cutting up other people!
So I am going to give this a try.
Ta!
