Title: Play now?
Post by: Doorman on October 16, 2005, 01:15:07 AM
What's with this 'Play now' button? If you press it, as I have done, accidently, on occassions, it hangs looking for servers! I have to resort to the 3 finger salute to stop it. What pointless button!
/me very very angry at naughty BF2 for wasting my time like that.

I think it tries to connect you to the server with the lowest ping that has a slot available. I guess it has to check all the servers to do that so maybe it would be better if they re-labelled it to read "Play in 5 minutes"

It used to always connect me to a full server.  :(

but I think 1.03 release notes said it has been fixed

It wouldn't be so bad if it tried to connect you to a server that you could specify i the avourites section..

(Like a shortcut to the dMw server, for example.)

But I guess that would be asking too much.

I have deleted mine from my desktop...As it just adds more cluter to an already clutered screen.

Don't get me going about cluttered screens. I bet you anything, that 95% of the desktop shortcuts were plonked there by programmes (ENG.) arbitrarily and that you never use them!

What, eh, oh sorry. I lost it for a moment there.

Creating a folder on your desktop for games and utilities that are not used often makes a nice clean desktop :D

Yep - that's a good option...

I hate it when a program installs and doesn't give you the option NOT to install a shortcut on the desktop - but just does it!

Don't get me wrong - I actually like icons! But some of the window's program icons are just so horibble and look like they were designed by a 5 year old!

Now on my Mac in OS X on the other hand...(Blah, blah blah!)

;)
