Title: Last nights games - dMw then TG
Post by: Ranger on October 27, 2005, 11:18:39 AM
Cheers for a lot of excellent games last night...I was lucky enough to be in a terrific squad in the dMw & TG  on games.

Nice to see the TG guys got the message about mutual support of our servers - as a few turned up to play on dMw, and we later joined them on the TG server.

Daqing Oilfields and Fushe Pass were corkers last night (dMw)! Teamwork in my squad was fantastic - it was one of those nights when everything just seemed to work. Great voice comms and plenty of laughs too!

Did I REALLY take out that chopper with my shotgun???? Still can't believe it!  :roflmao:

Only complaint seemed to be that the [Goon]([Gloom]??? Whatever!) guys still insist on bunny-hopping despite the message warning against it. I *think* they are German and can't speak english as they never use the comms and ignore our warnings (can ANYONE speak german to tell them, because otherwise they good players.)

After things started to peater out on dMw a few of us swapped over to TG server - 64 player mayhem...

But what was that whole artillary frenzy about? - that had to be a hack, artillary coming in every couple of minutes and sometimes straight after each other!

We had a nice little dMw squad on the TG game (with some other irregulars) and again the teamwork was fantastic - we did some great defending on Dragon Valley!

TOW rocks! LOL - And Norm & Blunt seemed to be having an ace time C4ing and stuff!

All in all - excellent evening. Thanks again to all those who put up with my Squad Leading - I REALLY had a great squad! And thanks to the Tactical Gamer guys - a pleasure to play with as usual.

Finally - one thing. Apologies if my calling my squad guys 'lads' all the time bugs folk. Arn't being patronizing - I just really get in to the whole SL and teamwork thing and go all 'team coach' when I'm SL!

 :D

I was having fun blowing you all up with carefully parked jeeps loaded with C4 on FuShe pass (at least I think it was that map). Even managed to take out an apc by jumping out, backpedalling and then setting it off :D no kamikase-ing though :winkiss:

Had a few rounds where we were outnumbered and couldn't pull ourselves together to form a coherent attack. I think we could take one point from the TG servers ... have a pause at the start of a new map - I noticed on TG that I had to wait about 30s before my first spawn. This meant that if one team had the fast loaders they didn't get to rape undefended flags. I've also believe there's a way to set it so that the flags are split 50-50 from the start, and on some maps that would be a lot more enjoyable!! It's painful spending an entire map failing to capture the very first base...

I speak a little bit German, tell them this next time: Mochtest du bitte nicht wie ein kanienchen rund hupfelen? Danke sehr!

They'll get the message (or they just wanted to ignore you).

hehe, web-translator brought that out as: "Couldn't you have hupfelen please as a kanienchen approximately? Thanks very much!" ...the two untranslated words aren't showing up on the web ... :)

It was Wulfyn that noticed the bunny-hopping I hink (or one of his TG mates)...

To be honest I didn't notice - but had they done it in front of me I would have said something.

...The Tactical Gamer games start differently to our dMw server games - on the dMw OldBloke or another admin usually re-starts the map when they are sure everyone is in properly. TG do it slightly differently - they have a qone and a half minute lead-in before the match starts properly to ensure that everyone is in.

Can't say which is the best way - each has it's good and bad points.

I did seem to have a very good night on static defences last night - Stinger and TOW. Popped off quite a few enemy vehicles and aircraft...Even took out a rocket-sniping Cobra with the TOW!

:)

Quite pleased with that shot.

Norm did this really sneaky ploy over one of the bridges in Dragon Valley (I was watching him at a distance through the TOW scope). He climbed up one of the pipelines that went over the bridge and threw C4 down from there. Hee hee!

...So between him, Blunt and me on my TOW the USMC team couldn't get a vehicle across and onto our flags!

I have to say that Dragon Valley on TG is a lot fairer than it is on the dMw server. With AAS on Dragon Valley it is VERY hard for the USMC to get out of thier first base - whereas on conquest at least they can flank and take one of the rearmost flags.

...Actually I will bnring this up in a new thread as it is very frustrating for the USMC side on dMw/

Yeah, nice games on your server on Wednesday! Oman at the end was a good evidence on how good the .50 actually is against choppers ;)

Btw, you could have told me about those guys, I am from Germany. Maybe I didn't get it in the voice comms.

Next time simply write:
"Auf diesem Server ist Bunny Hopping verboten. Hoert bitte auf damit. Andernfalls werdet ihr gekickt. Danke."

which translates into: "This server prohibits bunny hopping. Please stop doing it. Otherwise you'll be kicked. Thank you."

ACK!! a million apologies - that's what you get for spamming forums whilst at work. That touch of dyslexia i inherited from my dad kicking in again! :=|

Sorry ranger, totally misread you. Apologies all on my side! (I must say I was a bit shocked). Thanks to blunt too for pointing out my total mistake!

erk!

anyways, it was really good fun last night, and thanks for being patient about my chopper handling (oh-err!).

Thanks for that Morg - I will give that a try the next time.

As I said - I don't want to scare these guys off, aside from the frequent bunny-hopping they were good players.

Use the "IMG" button on the control panel (to the right of the "http://" button) and paste the URL of the image you want displayed. It is like adding a hyperlink but it shows the image instead.

So THAT'S what you guys did to me! hahaa.. that'll teach me for answering the phone.

Still, considering it was from my gf I guess not answering the phone would have had similar results ;)
