Title: NoCD for 1.03 version
Post by: delanvital on November 13, 2005, 10:49:58 PM
I can't seem to get my DVD drive up and running. It is completely dead. Having bought the game there is nothing wrong with me using a NoCD version - has anyone found one that works? I checked various sites but none for 1.03... and will that not be spotted by punkbuster? PM me if you had the luck, please :)

The way that the NoCD works that we use is that it mounts a base image of the first disk using a pseudo drive.

This fools the unaltered game executable to believe the DVD is in the drive.

So if you've seen one that needs DaemonTools to work, thats the one we use. All current versions work with it.

Download and install Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5) if you haven't got it already.  Version 3.47 will probably do as it doesn't contain the Adware.

Next, read this post (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9917&view=findpost&p=89393) for a site to get the 1.03 NoCD BF2 image from.  A version that says it works with BF2 1.02 and Daemon Tools, will be fine for BF2 1.03.

Mount your newly downloaded image in Daemon Tools, and fire up BF2.  Voila - no DVD drive needed at any stage of the process. ;)
