Hi...

Just wondering whether there is any chance that Map Pack 2 (which is prooving very popular elsewhere) will be applied to the dMw server?

I realize that adding 'non-official' extras/mods to a server is a bit of a slippery slope - but I notice that Tactical Gamer have added this pack to their server.

While this is NOT a good reason for us to do likewise in it's self - it does mean that because many of us like to play on the TG server too we will need to download these to do so now anyway.

The big incentive will be Karkand 2 of course (which is like another suburd of Karkand).

Maybe we could have a 'trial night' to see what people think?

as discussed in another thread, I'll add the map pack once Lib has had a chance to code AAS for it. Until then I guess AAS would lockup on map change like it did with Wake Island and we don't want that do we :)

Ahhhhh...

Looked into this a bit more and in fact Tactical Gamer have NOT added ALL the Map Pack 2 maps...

They have a thread about this and they have only added the following two maps from this pack:

Strike at Karkand 2
Strike at Abu Dhabi

I know one of the problems is that new ppl with standard maps only can't join the game if it is new maps. So, one solution could be to run two servers, maybe? One with standard and one with the map pack? Maybe that leads to people being divided on one server only, but then again maybe not...?

BB if you load them on the server maybe on sunday night we can give them ago if we do small maps with no AAS

I can do that. Can you start a thread telling everyone to get the new map pack and point them to a reasonable link?
