Total BF2 Map Pack 2
After a lot of hard work, the TotalBF2 Map Team can finally present to you map pack number 2 as a gift to the BF2 community. We will be hosting a TotalBF2 Custom Map server where you can play these maps. The IP is 69.93.21.15:16567 . Hope you will come join us to play these maps. Now for the maps that are in the pack:

Strike at Karkand 2
****TotalBF2 Desert Map Contest Winner!!!****
In this continuing of the proclaimed best map in BF2, you will find yourself north of the original city of Karkand. The USMC has pushed back the MEC troops to the north. Forcing them to fall back into their mountains and the USMC defends the once MEC controlled city of Karkand.

Strike at Abu Dhabi

Berlin
Being a remake of the original 1942 map Berlin, this map lives up to its original. Looking and feeling like the same exact map you will find yourself thinking back to the old days here.
Created By: Rodolfo®

Straight of Hormuz
MEC forces have stolen USMC anti aircraft weaponry on an island in the Strait of Hormuz. USMC decides to invade the island so that the airborne supplies can resume operations. MEC manages to mobilize remaining forces for a counterstrike. Both armies commander assets have been destroyed by special agents.
Created By: Pirelli

Mahoni Island
MEC is holding this small, but very strategic island, and is not willing to give it up without a fight. USMC is willing to give MEC the fight and launches an assault on the island with special forces.

Nan Hai
In the sea of Nan Hai two giants of the sea have been found, God knows what is now to happen! The powerful USMC fleet is suffering after the sinking of one of its better ships, and wants revenge against the Chinese fury.

mappack installed on server!

Maps available for use but I suggest we wait until Sunday to use them.

Armitage, suggest you create a "Mappack2" profile with BF2CC selecting the maps you want in it from originals plus the mappack rather than changing any of the existing profiles (it's easier to revert that way ;))

There are many many invisible walls on karkand 2 which detracted from the enjoyment of the evening for me. Good map but needs some more work - good to see a busy server though :)

Will we be using the mappack 2 on our server tonight? And can we delete that annoying carrier based one?  :)

Yea it was terrible but we did only have a few players and AAS was off so maybe it would be improved with AAS and a few more players.
Yea that banning was very annoying last night, barely got a go on the new karkand  :(

well i don't know about you guys, but with all the bugs in the maps I'm not sure if it's fair to ask Liberator to spend all the time making routes not to use them. unless he has nothing better to do :D

Eh? What? I wasn't listening.

I have only glanced over the task so far, but a list of prefered maps would be a lot easier as you have to add entries and new coding for each map and each map size.

'Wake Island' was 64 player only and carried the '64' tag in each of the flag capture points. Only a couple of the maps in the mappack contain the map size in the same way. At the moment the AAS code uses this tag to work out what the map size is and load the capture order for that map.

'Strike at Karkand 2' is probably the easiest as it resembles the internal naming standards of the 'Wake Island' map.

If I can find the variable within the game which holds the directory name of the currently selected map then I can rewrite the code and hopefully make it friendly to any map.

But it means me getting of my TANGO and doing work, which I try not to do too much.

But pick your favourites and I'll see what I can do.

I would say Karkand 2.
Any map with karkand in the name is going to be great

as a side note ... what sort of level of coding does one require to do that sort of thing? :)
