Title: Grrr idiots on eBay
Post by: Barley on November 18, 2005, 11:49:33 PM
An auction of mine finished this evening for a 6600GT 128MB PCI-E graphic card.  It went for £90 in the end, which I was reasonably happy with.

As soon as the auction finished the winning bidder e-mailed me immediately to say they would not pay for the item as it was too expensive!!

QuoteHello

I am every sorry. I cannot afford anymore to pay for this auction. I give my self a 85 Pound Limt and it seems that the auction has surpassed that. I cannot pay much more cause I am having money problems.

So I hope you understand and you can send a secound chance offer to someone esle who is willing to buy it.

Thanks

I promptly replied to explain that they are bound under eBay rules to pay for the item, otherwise I'll request compensation from eBay.

QuoteHello

I am sorry this had to come to this. But I am not paying 90+ for something I didn't win. If this does not happen don't blame frist time I have got bad feedback I am not sure If I have to pay for your Item.

Sorry

What??  Did someone trick eBay into saying they won the auction?  Did someone break into the persons house and bid on my item?  And why was the bidder placing bids higher than they could afford to pay in the first place!

Some people are so stupid!  :ranting:

I once bid £35 on a book by mistake, meant to put £3.50 as it was at £3 at that time. Imagine my abject dissapointment when someone drunker than me bid £36 instead of £3.60   I guessed that because i got a second chance offer they must have done exactly the same as me. Lucky escape
