Are the amount of tickets hewn into blocks of granite or can they be altered to suit circumstances? I.E; with 2, 4, or 6 players on it can take a fortnight to finish a map! Fair enough with a full server but what a drag otherwise.

you can set it  from 1 - 1000. but set to 1 would be a short game :)

well ... when you get bored you could agree to let one side take over all the flags and then kill you? That'd end it quick

Har bloody har. So the sensible answer is 'yes it can be changed' then.

With the amount of time required to win Karkand - I mean we can use an hour on that map alone - it might be sensible to reduce it, imo.

Why would you want to shorten a round of karkand :D

Karkand is fun during that hour, but we end up playing only 2-3 maps in an evening, with ppl coming on the server later now (about 9-ish your time)... I like Karkand, but I can also get enough of it - I like Dragon Valley, Sharqi Peninsula and some of the other maps as well :)

But come to think of it - they are more fun with 10+v10+ players... and that doesn't happen that often anymore... so I guess you guys are right    :D

One of the great things about karkand is that it works so well with only 6 people on the server. Zatar is another one. but maps like Oman needs more people. unless you play it on small in 4wheels only mode, then that can last an hour.

My mark of a good game is one that i need a rest after :)

as I said if you get bored then suggest that the (in the case of karkand) USMC take over all flags and kill remaining resistance...end of map

most servers i've played on so far have a 30min round time so all maps last an hour or under regardless of amount of people playing :)

monday night....I had me worst night on BF2 ever....did not enjoy it 1 bit :(

I can normally take something positive away from most games (cs or bf2) win or lose...

2v2 on some crap map..tank & heli v 2 infantry...

and not a chance to get even (neither of us were pilots)

I only joined to make a foursome....but it wasn't played the dmw way...iykwim (ron...if you know what I mean)

so v. disappointed was I

I know what you mean - I believe you're referring to Zatar Wetlands, the one where we fought for the middle flag? It was pretty frustrating, especially because I was playing like crap, as I said in another thread. When you're only two people on one side, and one is pretty much useless (that would be me) it's extremely hard to get anything to work. And when the opposition has a good pilot it's even harder. We couldn't even get out of our base...

Things didn't exactly get better in Karkand afterwards. I think that was the quickest Karkand in months...

So all in all I agree with you Blunt - I think it was the BF2 game ever for me too...

I am sorry to hear that, especially as I was on the other side. I was mostly in the tank or running around tossing mines, though. You should have let us know and I would have swapped teams - or we could have made it infantry (or jeep) only, that would have ruled out the tanks and choppers - and then that flag is way easier to cap imho.

Come to think of it I don't know why we didn't make it an infantry only night

I don't think it's a matter of who's where and how many. For my part it was just that I played really badly that night leaving my team with practically one player less. I don't think it would've made a difference if it was infantry only - see exhibit A (Karkand).

Also, in regards of switching teams and changing modes of play - if it isn't decided in advance, I feel that you just have to play the cards you've been dealed.

So note to myself: STOP WHINING and get over it  :D
