OK - the reimmergance of the BIG tag after my dMw tag ISN'T some sort of slight guys...
It's actually a problem that I had migrating my BF2 profile to my new PC.
Everything was running fine on my old PC - password was saved and everything was great.
I moved my BF2 Profiles folder across my network and put it into the new installation of BF2 that I have on my new PC. Openned BF2 and...'Access Denied!'
It seems that in the migration process BF2 (or my network or the tooth fairy) has scrambled my profile password.
No matter I though, I will entery my email address and retrive the password from the server.
Uhhh-uhhh - no way!
I openned the profile file in note pad and it seems that when I originally set up the account I typed in my own email address incorrectly - so now it can't send me my password...
SO - I had to make a new profile accouint in BF2 using the BIG tag in the middle.
There - you really wanted to know didn't you! LOL

May have something to do with the patch now encrypting the CD key within the windows registry.
I once lost my profile, wanted to add the name and so again and didn't work. Make a new name with your old profile and it might work again (did for me) but the anoying thing could be that that stupid voice comes back telling you what to do.

Please, please let me know if you find out how to disable them! I still have some of that stuff - and it fades down the in-game volume while speaking. Very annoying <_<
I'm not even slightly slighted  .. I think

Yep - I forgot about these 'help' bits, I tried looking through 'Options' but couldn't see a way to turn these off.
:(
The other down side, of course, is that I have lost all the ranked points I had on this profile (-=[dMw]=-Ranger)...Shame as I had a couple of really handy unlocks on it.
So back to the old ranking grind!
:)
