Anybody interested in a paintball day. I played it years ago and it was a great day out.
I was thinking about going February/march time and it would be good to get some dMw boys together and have a beer :)
I guess the Cambridge area is good for most people because of the LAN. This place seems ok (http://www.apocalypsepaintball.co.uk/)
Paintballings good fun. Doesn't hurt as much as people say it does. But you'll get the pansy who comes with 5 layers of clothes anyway. (wheres the fun in that?)
Just noticed you said february/march...lol you'll need 5 layers of clothes then. If the paintballs dont hurt the frost bite will. :narnar:

Like hell it doesn't
B"black and blue"B
i been paintballing twice, it doesn't hurt when the adrenaline is pumping, its great fun!
and the people who bring 5 layers would be cooking cause you're gonna need to run your ass off
i used to paintballl quite a lot, then i got asked to start marshaling at games so that experianced players could help keep things safe.
1) they gave me a nice yaellow coat which was a f**king paint magnet
2) marshaling 2 teams of 10 kids against each other and we had a bright idea "why dont you all for thew last game play against us 4 marshalls", bad idea ran round a corner staright into a load of them, counted the paint splatter afterwards, 41 paint splats on me, with 14 of them on my helmet and googles
and a few in the balls
bloody good fun thou :woot:

i love the marshalls, they're such good targets, if they realise they're in the way of a firefight they drop face first to the ground, i love their reactions :P
I've got turps...
can I be a medic? :P
I am up for this and I think you will find Dewey is very keen as he used to do paintballing rather competitively. Make it a nice time of year though as Cambridge is a bit of a slog for bad weather.

I'm ok with water based paints too btw :P
I'm very tempted! Although if its a day trip there will be problems of that old clash between beer and driving...
Doesn't hurt?
I had Scaramanga's 3rd nipple on my forehead for a day or two.
It bloody hurt :(
Day or two!?! It was more like a week or two

forehead? its not meant to touch your face, you're supposed to be wearing full face protection :S
and i'd like to add that it DOESN'T hurt, you little girls. ;)
Yea it doesn't hurt unless someones 3 ft behind u and shoots repeatedly into your spine. I should know, i did it to my cousin... (Salvatore Buttafacio - You might remember him, played on dMw quite a bit a few years ago)
Never heard him squeel like that before :D
Yeah, buttface! What happened to him!?
I used to love paintballing, I played quite a bit but my modesty prevents me from telling you of my paintballing exploits
Competition guns fire at 300 fps and can fire at over 20 balls a second, and when someone mugs you over a barricade from a metre away it bloody hurts, but not until after the day is over - too much adrenaline running to notice.
Interestingingly theres a famous Paintballing tactic that was deployed in the early paintball competition days around late 80's called - Dead Mans Walk.
Basically if your team was looking like you where going to lose, you would wait until an opponent called a paintcheck on you, you stand up as though you have been hit and walk towards the opposition (Dead Mans Walk) - though you haven't been hit. Then with arms down by your side looking annoyed, you walk past the oppositions skirmish line and then turn and shoot them in the back - obviously this only works if the deadzone is in the direction your pretending to walk too :D But can decimate a team if pulled off :narnar:

thats a nasty tactic, just to be sure to shoot em again if their hand isn't up,
you can't get in trouble for that can you? :P
(those who didn't know.. fps is feet per second)
Lol, i remember popping a few extra shots at someone because they didn't have thier hand up.

Well you can get into trouble if the opposition wait until your close, realise your arm isn't up in the air and then use you for target practice :D
Well up for it m8 i regually play airsoft with my m8's :)
I dug out this old photo of the team I used to play for, we where playing in a 5 man competition - we won this one and appeared in a paintball magazine :D

One of the best teams on the Pro-ball circuit about 10 year ago was a team called the Nam-Wreckin-Crew later to become Shockwave, very aggressive side, one of the best in the UK - they had a couple of guys on their side who where about your size, big blokes, not fat either brick sh*t houses I think is the scientific term! They where fast.
I had the delight of marshalling them once at the European masters, the highlight being in the quarter finals when they where playing a grudge match versus the American Ironmen team.
At the start of the game one of the big guys turns to me and says,
'don't f*ck up a call marshall, I don't want you pulling me for spray'
- the whistle goes, the team breakout at speed, and I'm following this big fella and some of his mates. I see the big fella, get shot twice in the chest one bounced the other broke - he knew he'd been hit so he dives on to his front behind a barricade, trying to wipe of the paint on the ground ie trying to cheat.
I called him neutral stood him up - before I say a word he's saying thats not a hit marshall its just spray- after I told him he was out, his body language and colourful language suggested he was going to rip my head off after the game ended!
Sorry I digressed there didn't I
