At one point we had rules like 'no bunny hopping' and stuff displayed during matches (and on teh server intro/graphic)...
Do we still have those?
If so can I suggest a new one:
'No ramming or deliberate team killing - those doing so will be kicked'
We had someone on last night that had a preference to ram others hardware which could not be percieved as accidental...
If I am rammed by a jet I give the player the benifit of the doubt as I know how hard they are to control (I have rammed in the jets by accident).
BUT...I was rammed by this fella in the BUS! - Which I could see was being deliberately flown in a dive towards my APC (twice) and my tank (once).
This was accompanied - on one occassion - by a MESSAGE from the guy along the lines of 'Got you finally' (I presume as I had taken his chopper out a coupel of times before that).
...And I wasn't the only guy who complained about this last night.
We really want to make sure that our fair play messages are clear on the server graphic so that people know BEFORE they enter the game that we don't tollerate this kind of play.
--------------
Can one of the Admins tell me what size and format they use for the server graphic - as, if they don't mind, I may knock up a couple of examples of how this might be done so we can discuss this.
I watched him going after you in the chopper, he was doing it all night, if he didnt kill you on the 1st run he just kept going & flew straight into you, if you were in the air or on the ground he didnt seem bothered, one way or another he was gonna try his best to get you.

Cheers RizZy - it's good to have the comfirmation. As I don't like making complaints as some people might just think it's sour grapes.
...I am also a bit reluctant on this particular subject as - as I have said - rammed myself...Purely by accident!
(I have that problem with jets where - when trying to bomb something - I have a tendancy to aim the whole plane at the target - but then I find it hard to pull out of my dive. That's why I don't fly a lot.)
I don't want people saying I am being a hypocrite!
:) (I am just crap at flying!)
Good idea Ranger,
The server message should say:
No bunnyhopping
No dolphin diving
No TK
etc
coupled with the server messages that should hopefully get the message through.
Last nights server config was the one that Oldie had in place on the new server to get the BF2 server away from the CZ one and allow the guys an uninterupted match.
I am sure that the the config will eventually mirror the old server, but last night was a basic setup with AAS to allow us to play.
Correct. Weve had the server running for about 1 day now and it takes time to get configs sorted. We'll get there :)

i think he ws the guy constantly bunny hopping when he wasnt in a chopper.
as for myself i would like to say thet althou i have crashed in to ppl in the attack chopper it has only been when i realised that i was too close and couldnt pull out, 90% of the time when im too close i steer away and miss the person involved ending up in a lonely smoking mess next to them. if i have "rammed" someone it was because i just couldnt avoid it and it was never intentional, and always aferwards i say sorry if i hit them or lol if i ended up in a mees next to them.
I must appologise to Pendragon, for some reason I took up 3 consecutive aircraft and ended up crashing into him on attack runs.
Wasn't intentional, I never do that, but I was just having a blonde 10 minutes.
First time, I was trying to fly the chopper underneath you and I think you were still trying to aim at me so we crashed, second time I flew in to you in the plane as I was trying to get you with the AA rockets and only then noticed I hadn't got any left, too late to pull out as I wasn't on max thrust (max thrust, gives full manouvering), so I collided with your tail rotor.
After that I was dropping bombs and not pulling up in time or hitting trees.
So I went and played cat and mouse with Oldie for a few minutes. :D
This thread is fast becoming a chance to confess our sins!
Anyone one else wish to be absolved?
:)
On the Songhua Stalement AAS has is wrong for the first two flags, well at least swapped. That is, chinese now has to capture south flag first. Is this deliberate or?
Well I shot armitage last night, he was hovering above one of the bases we where attacking in his SU35, I put my sight over it and it showed no IFF so I shot him... and I was in the tank and he well.. blew up with one shot :( It got worse as he said he'd spent ages getting to the enemy base and nicking it and he was just abou tto cap the flag.
Sorry mate

Isn't it supposed to show IFF all the time though? I've had the same prob a few times (can't say i've noticed it on DMW, but I have on other servers), where i've not got an IFF either way, so i've taken the shot and then got done for a teamkill. On other occasions i've seen it's a vehicle for our side, so not shot, only to get taken down because it was an enemy who had nicked one of our choppers, or similar.
My name is OldBloke and ..... I'm a bunny hopper.
I'm sorry guys but years of playing CS has given me this as a blind-panic reaction to meeting the enemy unexpectedly. I've cut down to just one hop per encounter now and I am trying to quit but there aint no patch to slap on my arm.

I'm exactly the same - I always jump when being confronted by an enemy - I'm also blindly pressing keys and usually draw the resuscitation paddles by accident. So apologies in advance.
Also, had a bit of a brain fart tonight and decided to see whether the enemy carrier would repair my helo. kinda forgot that was off limits for a sec.... didn't quite manage to find out either way ...... can enemy carrier repair your helo? anyone know?
PEN
Yes, NO!

Only friendly and neutralised helipads can do it.
On the 32 player map of 'Clean Sweep' you can use the out of bounds airbase to repair planes when you have lost all your bases.
Just don't get out of it if you land.
