From TotalBF2 ...
QuoteWe are currently working on the next Battlefield 2 update. We believe this update has some significant improvements that everyone will appreciate. We’ve seen the discussions on the forum and will do our best to address as many issues as possible, as soon as possible. Here is a quick run down of just some of the issues we have been working on.
- Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14
- TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range
- Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced
- AA missile lock has been improved
- Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
- "Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible
- Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time
- "Prone Spamming" is now fixed
- "Sprint exploit" is now fixed
- The Sa80 weapon has been improved
- The G3A3 weapon has been improved
- Reload while sprinting has been enabled
- Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials
- Damage decreased for the M134
- Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.
We'll be announcing further additions to this list, but that will have to wait until the next update. This is NOT the complete list of items we are working on. As we have more items go through testing and we are sure of a change we will update you.
Didn't know there was a 'Sprint Exploit' but I saw some guy moving damn quick on our server tonight <_<
And what's 'Prone Spamming'?
what about customable team sizes you ea/dice bankers????
A lot of these fixes are in-game and to be expected...
But I'd like to see improvements to the game interface and facilities...
Custom team sizes IS a good one - but I would like to see an game lobby and a custom team interface where teams can be chosen (and where a briefing could be given just before the game start).
...AND the ability to de-brief so we can say 'cheerio' properly after a match rather than just disappearing!
I would like the Commander or SL to be able to specify 'way points' before the match, giving objectives for the beginning positions of the game - great for competitions.
I would like to see more single player maps available - and a co-operative multiplayer mode for LAN on single players so small/home LANS can be organized.
I would also like the SL's voice comms to have the ability to bloke out all other voice comms on his channel when he speaks so everyone can hear JUST him when he is issuing orders.
-----
On the in-game side I would like to see the introduction of a special Squad Leader class. Armed with an M4, binoculars, flare gun with flares of different colours (white, red and green).
Popping the red for example would show up on the minimap as an icon - for calling in air support, for example.
I would also like to see a proper smoke pot (grenade), which really does give cover to infantry (held by Support class and Engineer).
In Call of Duty 2 (yeah, sorry, yawn) teh smoke grenades pump out the same amount of smoke that tyhe APC and tank smoke pots do in BF2!
We need that kind of protection for the infantry!
:withstupid:
what are they going to do to my poor old helicopter :nevermind:
Some good ideas there, Ranger

Never mind Armitage ~ at least it will stop us 'grunts' moaning about you fly guys (which you must get fed up of).
Now we don't have any excuse!
:)
...We could have done with these fixes for last night - I actually just give in and left (when the opposition started to base rape our UCB with bombers and tanks).
:(

Arm, there going make it fair for the guys on the ground m8, take away some of its weapons and hopefully a lot of its armour and make AA easy to lock onto you hurrah :D I hope they do the same with the planes!
However I think EA's patch sounds great, there will always be lots of extras we'd like to see, but of lot of these mentioned improve the game and cut down on the amount of exploits and cheating that currently goes on in games, making it more dMw like and that can only be a good thing :D
"Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy"
Does this mean better or worse?

Yep - what does that mean?
That could be good or bad...
My take on this is IMPROVED accuracy - as I can never hit ANYTHING with the Support MG! LOL
Actually, that is a lie - last night one of teh few positive things to happen was that I tried Support again, got myself in a good position on a hill overlooking a flag, and I picked off quite a few enemy with some short bursts.
But even so, I don't think the accuracy of teh MG reflects a true measure of the real steel weapon (I have fired the GPMG ~ and that's very accurate out to a good range).

Goody.
