I've sold out and got it ( 19.99 from GAME ) so.......
Any pointers for a newbie ? downloads req'd, extras etc ?
get the new patch from ea and then thats it realy
alot of people from dMw go onto the TG server and if your thinking of doing this then you will need the new map pack that they have.
nut thats all realy to get started. ill get the TG website and post it because i cant remember it (how do u spell remember??)

Get the 1.12 update.
Get the AAS maps printed so you know your way. (it is a sticky in the forum).
Make sure mic work.
Make sure you join a squad in-game.
Press B to talk, when in a squad.
That should be enough to get you started :)

Just get updated and get on the server. I would start using Special Forces first as the weapon has good accuracy

Practice, practice and err play on the server tonight, monday nights are always good games and usually a big crowd.
Had a short game on our server and was pleased to snipe a few people who obligingly stayed still for me whilst i repeatedly shot em...thanks guys :D
Went to TG server....only to get booted for not joining squad.....Mmmmmm..how do i do that then ???

I guess you now know how to join a squad, same as you've been doing on the dMw server, on TG I think they have a time limit which you have to join by otherwise you get booted.

When you die, or enter the game, you can press return (or whatever key you've bound to it) to load up the spawnpoint select screen (or it'll load automatically). On the left hand side of the map you can select what kind of kit you want to have (Sniper, Assault, Anti-Tank, Medic etc). At the top of that left hand side bar is a second tab to the kit select one called 'Squad' IIRC (i'm at work at the mo so this is from memory. I'm sure i'll get corrected if i'm wrong :D). Click that, and you'll get a fairly self explanatory list of current squads, with buttons to view who is currently in a squad (the downward pointing arrow to the right of the squadname), create a new squad of your own, or join one of the listed squads (note that squads can be locked, so you won't be able to join, but i've yet to see that happen on DMW). You can then do stuff like use voice chat to talk to your squadmembers, spawn on your squadleader (if he's in a vehicle with spaces in it'll become a mobile spawnpoint and you'll spawn inside. If he's on foot you just spawn nearby) etc. Your squadleader is the green moving spawnpoint on the spawnpoint selection page. If he is dead or is in a full vehicle when the time comes for you to spawn, the spawnpoint selection page will probably reload (or it'll say 'Time to spawn: 0' on your screen. but you still won't be spawning), and the SL will show as a green dot with a red ring around him. Squad members show on your minimap as green dots, other teammembers as blue ones, and enemies as red.
There's also a keybinding to go straight to the squad select screen, instead of via the spawn select screen, but I forget what the default is as i've changed it in my controls.
