What a fantastic game the last Karkand was tonight.
Absolute full credit to my squad...We nearly pinched the game at the end - 17 tickets in it at the end I think, with a battle of snipers and tanks at the Train Wreck bridge.
The Suburbs was a bitch of a battle.
I'm really glad everyone hung onto the end. Everyone did a terrific job and really turned things around.
Although it might seem to be a bit unfair to single any one person out - a big thanks to BIG-Paddy for his medicing at the end which kept us in the game.
Not one person swung the lead....Everybody was in there.
Well done the guys on the other side too ~ thanks for giving us a good game.
Cheers for a terrific night (incidently my experience of the night was completely the opposite of Dewey's ~ just a shame he wasn't around for the Karkand. It would have cheered him up!)
My best bit: Sniping with my M16 at the Suburbs - "M-m-m-m-multikill!"
;) TA guys.

seconded...
that was a blast!
Armi did the biz as SL tonight...finger on the pulse...great comms/orders...pld m8 8)
there were a few new faces as well....they played great without exception...one fella, responding to my taunts about not using comms, typed "which key to talk?"...he comm'ed well after that :D
Ranger...if I see you, I'm gonna kill you  ....
where were you?
gg's pld :dmw:
I arrived on late.....( i.e. "i'll just pop on for 5mins" ) and ended up staying a little longer.
My second game ( of ANY kind...havn't played single player even yet )...so this things all a bit new to me.......so when someone dragged me off to go get another APC with the comments "follow me back" i was thinking that i was glad that they were confident and amazed myself by actually driving the damn thing
I'm enjoying the game in a still semi-confused, looking for that new key to hit, where did that shot come from kind of way.
My main thoughts are :-
1. Man v tank = bad........Run you fool !!!!
2. Norm is a bad man......he kept hiding and killing me when i returned to the same spot to look for him.....if i get hold of him and his knife then his bottom-doctor is going to be busy.
3. Dewey is bullet prooof .......snipe reload shoot...snipe reload shoot ...snipe reload shoot...snipe reload shoot ......snipe reload shoot ......snipe reload shoot .......all shots to the head...and he continues to crawl around in mockery of me.......die damn you !! :D ( is the reg iffy in this game ? )
4. I always seem to have wrong weapon for situation.......as soon as i snipe...tanks appear......i change to antitank.......6 snipers instantly remove my head
5. Some people in squad are speaking a strange language i must learn ......."can the next guy to die be a medic" or "i need a support guy" are just pleasant noises with no meaning to me ( really must learn this game ).......although i'm pretty good at putting a blank face on, smiling and shrugging my shoulders in these situations.
A little correction Ranger. You guys only lost by 13 points. 8)
What a game. I know we have lots of good games on Karkand, but this was a special one. Anything that keeps the server busy until 1am on a Monday has to be a good'un. :dribble:
Credit to my team. Target and Blunt "played" as always. Hats off to Neil and Berky666 both new guys, but played like old pros :) SL'ing is a pleasure sometimes :)
We never had more than a 15 point lead the whole game. Once the game was down to the last 70-80 points and still had a 15 point lead I decided just to dig in at the suburbs with AT's. knowing the US were being very sneaky and stealing our armour but I knew it would still be very hard for them to cap it.
Rangers boys at that point change tactics. Bloody snipers everywhere. in about 2 minutes our 15 lead had turned into a 2 point deficit. So I ordered a withdrawal to the mech side of the river giving easier access to our armour and only one side to defend and the rest as they say is history.
:dmw:
Sorry Niel,my SL(Ranger) told me to cause trouble. ;) It was the first time I have used every weapon in my kit in one spawn, knife, pistol and my best friend, PKM  It was a case of kill, hide somewhere else, repeat.Niel I cant hit a thing with sniper rifle myself,my light machine gun is more accurate for me tbh, work that one out. When you die you can change your kit before you re-spawn,as the game pans out different kits will be required, think I have done 4 or 5 different kits in some of the epic dMw battles. :D Stick with it and ask your questions. :)
had a fantastic game, my highlight was coming round the back of the subarbs and knifing armatage who was sniping on the hill, "i got the barrat" went the scream down the comss followed by ...."oh im dead" followed by laughter.
Another highlight for me was norm saying at the end near the train wreck" right lets just attack them" so everyone ran down the hill and from my vantage point norm ran......... backwards, told him id seen that "you chicken", we giggled about that as well :woot:
great game well played by everyone, nice sl'ing ranger especially cause you were willing to listen to suggestions and if they were a good idea act on it "WELL PLAYED M8" :thumbsupsmileyanim:
Sounds like a fantastic game, wish I'd stuck around :)

Sorry I missed the majority of the Karkand map, but if i'd stayed any longer me girlfriend would have removed delicate parts of my anatomy with a spoon. Had great fun beforehand though :D. Apologies to anyone who was screwed over by my connection for about half an hour. Dunno what happened, but my ping kept spiking and dropping me from the server. I gave up for about 20 mins, while my ping to the server was constantly registering as 170/200, then it settled back down  I believe I trashed an APC that way, and blocked a route with tankage.
See people tonight if i'm lucky, if not then after Christmas
Great game
I though we lost it by pushing down to the train crash. They had high ground for sniping and quick access to armour. We should have stayed up at the suburbs and let em come.
Another thing. When we dig in we need either more medics or less spread with the players. I just couldnt get from one end of our line to the other to keep people alive. We also need engineers to keep our armour alive - they seemed to advance and blast as much as possible then withdraw and repair and then come back. We just lost whatever was brought down too quickly.
So in summary we need more people at one in the moring -_-

In a strict tactical sense you are right Paddy ~ but you have to ballance this with people wanting to have fun.
This is why I asked the squad whether they wanted to play 'safe' (and get a possible win) or 'go out in a blaze of glory', which naturally seemed to appeal to most people (it was already 12.30am at this point remember! LOL - people wanted to go to bed some time!)...
:lmfao: :)
We could've held a line on the hill ~ but I guessed that if we had we would have still been playing at 2am!
Yes, we might have got the win - but would it been any more fun than it was?
I don't think it could have been.
We could have been a bit 'tighter' once we got down to the Train Wreck ~ but people wanted to have a knock at the enemy, and fair dos to them the guys did a great job...(Including yourself, mate, who was running round like a blue-assed fly!)
Even the new guy who had the tank - I was worried that he was lone wolfing and would have perhaps like him to hold back a bit - but in the end he actually got the Train Wreck back for us. So good on him.
Unlike real war, in BF2 you have to take 'fun' into consideration ~ and if that means you lose a game, well, OK we lost ~ but boy did we have a good time doing it (and I actually think because the guys were enjoying themselves they worked better and cut the score down to a very creditable 13 tickets).
Again, well done everyone ~ it also seems that I had the squad with the most evil knifers in it! :)
That's me boys!

Yeah sorry if it sounds like I was griping. No such thing. Just trying to bring some analysis as well as fun.
1 word would describe last night to me - Epic.
Only came on for a 5 minute run around after getting in from work at something like 10.45 & the next thing I know where still going strong at 12.30, I think I bailled out with about 20-30 tickets left - I just couldn't take anymore, I needed to go & lay down quietly for a while, top fun.
I'll remember to check the server again some time when I get in from work & feel like draining the last remaining life from my body.

You weren't griping mate - you did a great job last night - AND I noticed you were doing some sound 'second in command' ordering too!
But everyone was putting in thier suggestions last night - which was cool.
It certainly taught me something about being an SL - and I will be following this format when I play SL in the future. I enjoyed it.
Analysis is always good - and as I said - tactically speaking, you were perfectly right. It was good to have the input at the time - don't stop doing it!
:)

I enjoyed the whose got the tank, i'll have the APC routine. Comedy moments in the heat of battle. Nice to have you around for 'five minutes' mate.
