A question to anyone that knows.
I now have 2.5Gig of memory..........do i really need a page file anymore ?? Windows of course keeps scaling it up to approx 1.5 of system memory.....but the way i see it ( and many others after a bit of googling ) is that the more memory you have the less you'll need the page file.
Anyone have experience of this ?
Cheers
Niel
setting it to 1.5 times physical memory is the recommended. Just set it and forget it :)

Windows xp still needs pagefile no matter how much memory is installed, setting it to zero or a small amount causes lots of problems. :)
I'm running page fileless now ( and have just played bf2 also ).......so far no probs.
I know i shouldn't tinker but one of the main reasons for bumping my memory up was i was sick of hard drive page file chatter when the machine was working hard ( oh...and a better bf2 experience )
my old memory setup was 512Mb + 768Mb page file
the new windows suggested page file for 2.5Gb memory is some ridiculous size........and i'm really pretty sure it shouldn't need it.
