I did a forum search, and I don't *think* this has been posted before, so apologies if it has:

Half Life: Source as it *should* have been done. These guys are recreating the original Half Life using the source engine, but unlike Half Life: Source they're actually redoing all the models, levels, textures and such to a level you would expect from the source engine. Obviously the levels aren't wall for wall identical with the originals, but from the screenies and such they've provided they look to be in keeping with the spirit of the original, if you get my meaning (only minor changes, and mainly cosmetic ones at that).
I for one look forward to this, and before anyone says it won't be allowed by Valve, they have already been contacted by the company and all they were asked is that they change the name of the project to just Black Mesa, so it doesn't infringe on the Half Life: Source / Counterstrike: Source etc licences that Valve already have. The only issue I have with it so far is the website. The HTML side is currently down for maintenance (probably due to their webhost dropping them and them having to shift suddenly onver Christmas), so I dunno if that was any better, but the image browsing interface for the flash site (under 'Media') leaves a lot to be desired. Just try and get the image you want without the browser shifting around under your cursor...
