Post by: ubique0712 on January 24, 2006, 09:09:05 PM
Hi Gentlemen and ladies (You never know whos playing)!

I found out today about this community as i love BF2 though i would say i am only an average player.

This has been spoilt by all the Bunnies and Dolphins which has ruined a fantastic game with cheating and rudeness.

Anyway I have registered and look forward to being a part of your community.

I live in Bournemouth and i am a War Pensioner aged 43yrs Married with a son who loves playing online too.

Could somebody please let me know what servers and the IP's that i am allowed to play on?

Thank you and look forward to playing you all.

Regards

Welcome to the forums,

If BF2's your thing then - BF2 Public Server: TBF 87.240.138.22:16567 (no password) is the ip your after, we run a few more servers & the game types & ip's can be found a few pages back under "server password"

Always worth checking the forums & asking when joining the BF2 server if theres anything differant going on as we tend to have a few theme nights running (4 wheels only to name 1) nothing worse than jumping in the nearest tank & killing everyone to find your not ment to be driving one.

Also if you happen to run x-fire look out for the nicknames thread somewhere one the forum & feel free to add us all, it'll make it easier for you to find us.

Hi there and a warm welcome  :D

Having outlined your experiences in BF I'm sure that you'll love playing here. Your sentiments echo the rest of us and here is a haven for playing games the way they're meant to be played - for fun, with respect and the way the games were intended.

It may take a moment to get to grips with the AAS Server we play and the most important thing to remember is to join a squad or the bot will auto-kick you.

Skill level is not important attitude is..... (which is just as well for me  )

Look forward to seeing you online

Hi Ubique,

We also have a second BF2 server running Special Forces.

BF2:SF AAS - 87.240.138.22:16567

Both our servers run the AAS (Advance And Secure) mod from Landot, there is nothing to download as the mod is server side only.

Voice Comms are used on both servers, so I hope you have them set up.

The original server and is nearly always the prefered server, but if get enough SF people onboard we may play on there during the mid week sessions.

The capture routes can be found pinned at the top of the forum.

You will usually find that there is an Admin on the server to make sure the spirit on the community and gaming in general is being upheld.

Fun is the objective.

Now get your ass on the server soldier.  :D

Hi guys I',m new to BF2 and probably not that good at it, but I found you via the Tactical Gamer site which appears to have the same ideals as you guys, just the kind of people I want to play with.

I'm a former soldier, 14 years with and Infantry Battalion, served in Londonderry, N Ireland 1970-72 in the bad old days, we were the resident Battalion there for that period, also saw service in Cyprus, Malta, West Germany (as it was then), Norway and Belize as well as two more tours of N Ireland, one in The New Lodge area of Belfast and the other down in County Fermanagh.  My main role when not on active tours was as a Mortar Fire Controller (MFC), I loved that job, pity there's no requirement for any in civvi street.  :)

I'm married to a Londonderry girl (well she was a girl 33 years ago :)), have two grown up sons and a dog called Paddy.  I'm sort of semi retired now and live up in North Lincolnshire, about 500 metres from the Humber Bridge.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting some games in with you guys soon as my new computer arrives, and I've had time to get some practice in SP before venturing online.  See you all soon.  :)

Here Paddy!...  ;) (sorry, bad joke).
Also welcome India51A.
It seems that [TG] directs people to us and vice versa.

BTW, it's not about skill although it helps out. For any questions or so, let us know... A thing that would help is a decent headset for a chat so problems can be solved ingame really easily.

is that a testimony to its squad based tactics or just because everyone likes driving big tanks and blowing stuff up?

Welcome one, welcome all. TG attracts current and ex forces as it's how things done properly can give a better play experience. DMW offers the same, except for the strange dress code at LANS, with a vaguely more understandable accent.
As an ex-TG staff writer( I think that's true), it's far more rewarding to play the way we do as opposed to loonie kids blatting around acting the a-hole.
I guess I'll have to play BF2 sometime, but that'll mean leaving FM2006

Warning: Do not drink JP Chenet wine, the rosé isn't even fit to cook with. And Benny will testify to my cooking, as long as I don't mention the vase. Ooops.
