Title: Decent Rugby Games!
Post by: A Twig on January 27, 2006, 04:13:45 PM
At last, we are finally reaching a Pro Evo vs FIFA style situation for rugby games on the console and PC.

Rugby Challenge 2006 from Swordfish studios (makers of Jonah Lomu Rugby I believe), vs EA Rugby 06. Both finally look to be nearing the standard we can see from football games, despite the obvious increased complexity of rugby, which has seemingly proved hard for studios to master when transferring to video game. Graphics are a little dated compared to some of the "next-gen" sports sims just coming out, but compete well with current versions of Pro Evo and the like. Finally the control system has been changed to make the whole game more fluid and flexible, EA introducing offloads out the tackle, quick lineouts, tap penalties etc. And EA have almost all the world licences and competitions, and have added a pro evo style master league as well.

Doesnt seem to be a lot of info on Challenge, but hopefully it will offer something similar or better! :D

Both are due out mid-Feb, I expect I will buy one or both, and will let you know then!
