Pop these two files in the 'TheMother' folder and you wont have to suffer a long outlap before starting on your timed lap. This is a stop gap until the track is completely finished.

Out of the pits, do the first hairpin, along the straight to the next left hander and almost immediately make a right turn next to a tractor thingy. Follow the short road round bearing right and get out onto the track between the wall and another yellow tractor. You'll get the message "Track cut. This lap will not count" Carry on full speed across the start/finish line to start a timed lap.
Make sense? :)

ah-ha, got it now :)
managed to get just under 11min (amateur settings?) in the mini, though some panel-beating may be in order! Not as fast in the more powerful rwd ford though!

Edit: Yeah, getting around that track in a perfect lap is more of an exception 8) <_<
Drive in Professional mode. You might as well get used to it. When you get online 'helps' aren't allowed. It's a hard world out there. :D I think thay may be where a lot of people come unstuck. They get used to brake, steering and throttle help offline and when they're taken away they're buggered!
So have you sussed the cheat now? If you like the 'career' mode you should have two profiles. If, like me you don' need no stinkin' career, one will suffice.

It seems I must place it in the root GTL folder and then create a new profile which is allocated all cars/tracks/money/etc? I'll turn it up to professional and see how much worse I do! My wheel and pedals (http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~bm8746/BS/Saitek_R100_XP_mod.html) are not of the highest quality... and my desk is a flimsy landlord-supplied ikea type job which moves a scary amount when I'm hacksawing at the steering :ph34r:
