Many thanks oh great and wise one.

Recursion hmmmmmmmm??

Ok, you're inside a huge maze. You can use recursion to get out.

[begin]
are you out of the maze?
if yes then end
if no then move foreward and turn left
repeat.
[end]

That's recursion

Name changing.....sic faciunt omnes :(  ....and just when I was getting used to Neutron having a banana in his ear   I suppose without the banana we could always fac tu cocleario vomere!

Never mind, I am going to ventis secundis, tene cursum and seek out something else to amuse me now.

Recedite, plebes! Gero rem imperialem!  :D   And if you don't stand aside, you can vescere bracis meis!  :P

Gawd I love dead things.....

It was Latin.  Neutron/Smiladon's signature included the latin phrase "I can't hear you.  I have a banana in my ear".

My reply included:

sic faciunt omnes - everyone is doing it

fac tu cocleario vomere! - gag him with a spoon

ventis secundis tene cursum - go with the flow

Recedite, plebes! Gero rem imperialem! - Stand aside plebians, I am on imperial business

vescere bracis meis!  - Eat my shorts

I actually did Latin at school, but as I am sure you will guess, conjugating verbs: voco, vocas, vacat, vocamus, vocatis, vocant, does not easily lead to the coloquial Latin for 'eat my shorts'.

His original signature was 'Te audire no possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.'  Try copying it and putting it into google.  You'll come up with some nice latin phrases and all of the ones that I quoted above (except for one that I amended to change the tense from first person to second personal singular).

Go ahead, fac ut gaudeam.

8O Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur.   :D

I dispair. Both threads relating to my change of name have spiralled off into some mad ranting wilderness. Am I cursed or is this some Machiavellian plot to subvert every thread I start.  8O

It's very poor 'net etiquette' to pick up people on their spelling, so stop it.

It would be like me going "Oh look here comes nough and ten!"
Title: Name change?
Post by: Dingo on February 19, 2003, 10:35:52 PM
..............that'll be noughT and ten then.......and I've never been PC....so go back to adult classes and learn how to spell you moron!!
Title: Name change?
Post by: smilodon on February 19, 2003, 10:40:50 PM
Yes indeed it should be nought, but I was using the point about incorrect spelling as a thinly veiled attempt to insert a snide comment about your score on the server last night. Hence nough and ten as opposed to nought and ten.

In fact you were nought and forteen but I was being kind.

Don't worry Benny.

I'll just open a can of whup-ass on him when we're on the server.

(And as there is no actual word whup-ass don't try to correct my spelling on that one)
