Smilo, Whitey and myself have got the job of annoying everybody by selecting all the wrong games for the LAN. To allow us some indication of how best to irritate you could you please give an indication of which games you would like to see so that we don't pick them ;) As the main time for structured tournaments will be the Saturday we really want about 3 main tourneys with maybe something running in the background to keep the drunks entertained.

Please list no more than 4 from the following list and put them in "preferred first" order.

2 Man Deagle CZ Tourney
5/6 man CZ Tourney
5/6 man CS:S Tourney
6 man squad BF2 Tourney
2 man (sniper + spotter) BF2 "may the best sniper win" tourney
64 man map BF2 free for all
GTL Tourney
LFS Tourney
UT2004 Tourney

Not sure about the order though. I think SS deserves consideration, it might be good?

Not really fussed - anything is cool but:

64 man map BF2 free for all
6 man squad BF2 Tourney
5/6 man CZ Tourney
(no option offered for large player no. CZ ?)
any driving game

5/6 man CZ Tourney or 5/6 man CS:S Tourney machine dependant
GTL Tourney / UT2004 Tourney

64 man map BF2 free for all ... dunno what this means ... death match, tk count as a kill???

always fun to have a bit of ut2k4 slapped on the end there... especially as GTL is much more individual and entirely separate from the team games ... some ut ctf would be fun?

Haven't had a proper game of CS:S yet and would love to give TCS:S a go :)

The 64 man BF2 is a given as is the CZ. Large player CZ (as PEN suggested would be quite nice)

Here is the count of points scoring for the games:

To judge the popularity of each game I allocated 4 points for being nominated in first position and down to 1 point for being in 4th position then counted how many points each game scored. The winning game of each "type" has been highlighted.

More info to follow once Smilo/Whitey and I have had a chinwag over the results :D

That doesnt really work as not everyone picked a single type from each category. If putting them all under one category then no driving game should be played, and a FFA BF2 should be played instead... :devil:

It does :)

I wanted to judge the popularity of each game in its own right as well and doing it the other way wouldn't have allowed me to do that. This was just to sort the 3 main comps on Saturday. Remeber you have feiday night and sunday morning to cater for as well ;)

Which add-on do you mean? SpecialForces? Or do you mean the realistic mod? That one can found in this thread: LINK (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12727)

Edit: maybe a pinned topic on the Realistic BF2 might be in order. :whistle:

1) The 2 man deagle battle always takes no time to play and is great fun and nervy are hell.
2) 5/6 man CZ tourney, TCS styleeeeee of course. None of this frag hunting stuff.
3) BF2 30 man event
4) Racing games are fun, but I'm crap at them, Ron heeeeeelllllllllllp :)

Good thing about the April LAN, it's my birthday every time it has happened for the last 4 years practically. :P

can I suggest 2-player grenade wars in CS? bygames ran a great little tourney with grenade-overload maps. [dg] came 2nd somehow, fantastic fun :D

I'm willing to sponser the 2v2 Deagle tourney on Friday Night. It would be open to anyone and you could join in any time before 9pm.

I'll create a ladder that after the first round would accelerate to the finals quite simply. The prize would be 2 shots of Sambucca (or similar) for each of the winners. 2nd place would get one shot each. 3rd can lick out the remains of the shooters from 1st and 2nd :)

This would get us all into the spirit (pun intended) of the w/e and have it over and done with promptly. All I would require would be a CZ admin to set it up..

Let me know what you guys think.. Call it Freak's Deagle-4-Shots Tourney! :D

So do we have a definative list of games that are "must have" for the LAN and the patch levels they must be on?

It would save having to run around getting things up to speed all day Friday if we do it before hand.
