neither, it's a "feature" of HLSW :(
but when im in game i get it so does hippy so does cain ..
that cant be hlsw
Ah sorry I thought you were mentioning it based on the HLSW tyrace.
Must admit that on all the friday nights I have been on MH I have only seen one small amount of lag and it was momentary.
I'll keep an eye on it but the best thing to do is to get a copt of pingplotter and run a trace to see which hops are causing problems.

This is mine from tonight. I was getting choppy voice comms and lag.
Ping plotter installed but not having the problem now :(
I'll keep an eye on it.

I had a bit of a tough time playing late Friday night on the hook just after most people had left, we were down to around 4 v 4 & I was getting horrible lag every few seconds that would last about aslong.
After a quick look at ping plotter I'm getting the same kind of pings as hippy from the same ip hop thingy & hlsw showing bad spikes at the same place too.

Is that the Hop 9 on Hippy's trace? if so then the problem seems to be in Tiscali.

ping (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/martin.reed8/hook%20ping.JPG)
Thats what I get from this end.
I've not been able to connect at home with my hi-vel adsl, so they might be having "issues". Havent seen anything about problems in the forums though.
Have rang support so hopefully they will sort me out asap.
Hi Guys,
Thought I would pop in and try to shed some light on this! We brought on another partial transit provider on friday to improve our european peering......however it seems that the chosen provider is currently upgrading a couple of core network switches. We have now dropped this session until we have confirmation that the upgrade is complete and returned things to the state of play as of last thursday.
Hopefully this will make for a pleasant gaming experience again.
Apologies for the inconvenience

Hi Ant
Thanks for taking time to pop onto our forums to post about the ping issue - I don't know any other ISP that would take the time or trouble to do so - it's appreciated!
Regards
TL.

I still wonder if it's just network related. The intermittent jerkiness (pings are actually fine) and also the poor quality voice comms is something I never get on MH.
For the record, my route from Sweden is fine.

We have removed the offensive routes, so what you are seeing now is different to how it would have been over the weekend
