Yup :D

Gentlemen, for your delectation we proudly announce the dMw Reality Mod server.

You can download the necessary files from here (http://www.realitymod.com/) but be warned it is over 200 Mb.

If I have set the server up properly then it will have the reality mod with AAS. If I haven't then it won't.

The server is running on the IP/Port of the old SF server (which has been shutdown just now)

87.240.138.22:16568

http://87.240.138.20/bf2live/bf2live.php?s...8.22&port=29901 (http://87.240.138.20/bf2live/bf2live.php?server=87.240.138.22&port=29901)

Any probs (such as lack of voice etc, give me a shout :D

See you on the server

I first need to finish stuff @ work, maybe after that if it's not to late...
Then download the 200 MB thing.
Maybe a n00bquestion but what's different with normal BF2?
Is the thing easy to install? Links please (sorry still @ work so I'll stop typing now).

QuoteProject Reality is a modification for the Battlefield 2 engine. The developer's aims are to rework the original game engine developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (Dice) to recreate a realistic combat environment. This includes adjusting the game's various elements that include physics, visual effects and gameplay. Along with changes to how the game handles, the PR team intends to include additional factions such as the British Military, and add to or alter existing factions so that they resemble real life military elements found within their respective environments.

The name 'Project Reality' is not solely for the purpose of throwing around a catchy title. Project Reality's team has a group of dedicated individuals, several of whom have backgrounds in armed services. Whose sole task it is to provide researched findings and statistical information to the developers tasked with creating the mod itself. If you are looking for a fact based FPS shooter from the perspective of a Soldier, Project Reality will be there to cater to those needs.

Inspiration for this modification has come from interviews BF2 Developers have participated in, to quote:

"Battlefield is all about fun, action-oriented gameplay. We'll leave the truly realistic experiences to the mod teams who thrive on that type of action." (DICE, source)

"Battlefield will always be first about fun and secondly about realism. Realism implies complexity." (Sean Decker, source)

Here are some very basic features that this mod will demonstrate once released.
- Kill Indicator Removed (e.g. Player A has killed Player B )
- Eliminate Friendly Indicator
- Realistic Ballistics (Bullet Drop, Speed, ROF)
- Longer Spawn Times (So hold on to your life)
- Realistic Damage (Goal is that damage to different hitboxes has different outcomes)

I'll be on later 8)

Well tonight was my first try of PRMM and I must say that it was everything I had hoped that BF2 would be.

It really looks now as if the attacking team need to outnumber the defenders (either that or I'm as bad as everryone tells me I am LOL)

The fact that you do not get tags showing where the enemy is hiding is excellent as you have to use your eyes now just like RL.

I'll be back for more of this. Excellent fun:)

Excellent stuff! I like how you can select which type of round you want to fire in the tanks, and whether to have buckshot or slugs in a shotgun. :)

Oh, and the 'Little Bird' replacement for the Seahawk is really cool!

Because of the new patch and SF. Everyone got the extra unlocks. For EuroForce there will be 2 more guns available, a new sniper rifle and the P90.

I've downloaded it and will try it another time.

So how many people actually got it to work? I wasn't one of them!
So, questions: 1, does it depend on the map packs installed? 2: Does Map pack 3 contain everything that is needed?
I have vanilla patched to 1.2. map pack 3, and this ultra real mod. I tried to join Meathook and was informed that I didn't have the mod that this server is running.
Jesus!
Oh and I unmounted the cd thingy and inserted the cd. I'm thinking of taking it out and inserting it somewhere else!

silly question ... did you download the 280mb mod install file?

I've tryed it for 1,5 map. It seemed to work fine for me.
I have the latest BF2 installed and SF and had no problems.

Must say that from what I've seen it looks quit allright, a bit difficult maybe with AAS on but I'll try it out another time again.
Also: I don't think the parachutes work. No throwing medpacks but you can drop supplies.

I was D/L'ing it tonight (still on a slow ADSL line), but by the looks of things on the server it's having the desired effect.

23 new peeps on the server at 23:00, lets see how many read the server messages and come visit the madhouse.

Ive been doing some digging on the PRMM forums. It seems to be a problem if the SecureRom or Safedisk options are ticked on daemon tools. Even if you unmount, if those are enabled then it causes the problem. I don't have any of the emulations seleceted and daemon tools works fine like that :D

Hope that helps some :(

Here are the Release Notes (http://realitymod.com/index.php?page=release_prmm02).

And yes, the parachutes have been removed from all but certain kits.

And no, I don't know which kits get a 'chute...

...yet!
