When do you guys meet up? Whats the best nights?
It's a case of go on the server, I'll see you, I'll join, others join, then some others join, then some leave, then you'll leave, then you'll come back, in the meantime I've left and someone else has joined. Then I'll come back when I shouldn't cos I'm too knackered! It's like this most evenings. Do join Teamspeak though, at least you'll have a better idea of what's happening. But stop talking about it and do it! :D
Usually from 19-20 GMT and then up to about 23:30 GMT.
There's activity on the server almost every night, typically ranging from 2-7 drivers. Number's been growing fast though 8) We have about 4 non-dmw regulars that really are regulars.
You better increase allowed players Ron - but do you have bandwidth for that?

No can do. I only have 386 upload. :( One thing that can and does help is for clients to set their connection speed at ISDN. It really does make a difference.
Your right Ron, I keep talking but don't get round to it... *damn my busy life* :D However I do really want to play now... really... erm really... so I'll try and get on on Sunday night for a few hours, if I can get on before that I will do.

I think I've asked you this before but can you remote RCON to GTL? If so I'll set it up on the dMw server for you and you can play away to your hearts content.

Unfortunately there's no rcon as such. There's a little program someone made to enable a very limited rcon such as advance session/event boot idiots and to restart the server. You cant change car classes or add/remove tracks. Not good I know but that's how it is. Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated
What about setting up a list of tracks and allowed cars and settings etc that could be occasionally updated and the server restarted? It'd remove the instantaneous server control but it'd mean the server was 24/7 and wouldn't choke Ron's internet connection? ...then petition GTL devs to sort their act out ;)

okay, fine, petition the clued up programmers who play games like GTL to create a hack-job rcon thingy :dummy:

Well there's certainly food for thought there. I'll have a ponder.

Give me a shout once you've pondered and we'll work out some way of getting the files on the server :)

Ponder #1 You need to install the whole game on the server before using the dedi part. So CD is required.
I'll probably be back with another ponder.
edit#2...
ignore that one for the moment - seems the search for GT Legends led to a post about nascar  bah
The plot thickens

I'll leave it on there anyway.
I can't believe it. I logged on to teamspeak to test the DNS name and ended up buying GTL
Wonder how that happened
We may shortly be in a position to announce a dMw GTL server hosted on the main servers rather than us all hogging Ron's bandwidth.
Watch these forums for more info :)

I'm having to upload the files to the server ffrom my home network. At present I am about half way through uploading the 4.3Gb of files and it should finish some time tomorrow morning all being well.
So, hopefully, by tomorrow night I should be in a position to start the server (keep your fingers crossed for me) :D

I'm puzzled by 4.3Gb of files. I took a look at my GTL server folder and it only weighs in at 2.15Gb. You're not whisky running are you?

Its the ISO of the DVD. You do not need a licence to run the server just the client so it's Kosher :)

I know it's kosher. I just can't understand the size difference.
