I just got myself a copy of F.E.A.R. and although it's now up and running fine on my pc - it won't start up if Xfire is running ...the screen goes black as if it was about to display the opening copyright welcome, but it crashes straight back to dektop without any error messages...not a major blow but a bit strange nonetheless!

i have noticed x fire has auto matically started to download a patch or patches for fear maybe it is causing probs? :unsure:
I've also notice CZero having problems starting - seems to be random, but turning xfire off heps make it okay again. hmmm....
I am now sure if this is xfire or not but when i am playing cz it lags at the beginning of each round and effectively jolts. Just as i move out of spawn. Sometimes this results in a warning connection message appearing in the top right of my screen. I contacted valve support, usual waffle but interestingly enough they mentioned xfire as maybe causing problems with steam. Shame they can't come with something like xfire :angry:. Anyway i am gonna keep trying this to see if xfire is indeed the problem.
