Random thoughts on the two versions. Alright! Stand up the boy who said bog off!
PRMM is very very good. I think I prefer it. Minus points are that you don't see who killed you or who you killed. That, to my mind detracts from the 'playing with mates' aspect. (:narnar: I killed so'n'so) It's a bit like playing in a vacuum (cue Hoover jokes)
Going to BF2 last night was enjoyable but the screen looked a bit, nay a lot, too cluttered. Something in between would be great.
I'll let you know if I think of anything else.
Thought of something else. :D Hate the music on startup of PRMM. If you hate it too go BF2\mods\pr\ and rename common client.zip. It only contains the music. Not sure if it'll contain anything else at some stage but for the moment...bliss. :)

I've not yet noticed the startup music for it...just fire up bf2 as per normal, join the game you want to join, and if prmm mod is on it the game just kind of resets into prmm mode and joins.
On the plus side of things prmm seems to have much much faster varifying times for level loads than vanilla...or is this a patch benefit I failed to notice before? :)
I've not had much chance to give PRMM a fair crack of the whip yet but, IMHO, I think I prefer BF2+AAS.
If you have the mod can you still join virgin servers ? If not it would be bf2 + AAS for me

PRMM drops itself into its own mod directory away from the normal stuff, but it does copy some of the map data from the vanilla area.
So you're fine to go and have a quick 'rank' if you feel like one.
