Title: Where do you go to look things up?
Post by: delanvital on March 14, 2006, 12:28:44 PM
Most of the time I just google for it, hwoever if it is more specific I use either answers.com or wikipedia. What about you? I am thinking in broad terms.

looking at my bookmarks...other than the ones you already mentioned...
http://dictionary.reference.com/ (http://dictionary.reference.com/) for spelling and definitions
http://scholar.google.com/ (http://scholar.google.com/) and http://www.engineeringvillage2.org (http://www.engineeringvillage2.org) for academic papers (not much use to most though ;) )
for directions in the uk (some to bits of europe too): googlemaps, streetmap, multimap, theAA, RAC
various hardware review sites. tomshardware, anandtech, firingsquad
various news sites. timesonline, bbc, theregister
...oh, and forums are good - dMw, HeXuS.net

but mostly google

Thanks a bunch.

I use scholar.google as well (working on my MA in int. management).

For directions in Europe I use map24.co.uk.

I like the news mail from //www.wiseeye.com adjusted to my own cues, and the ability to search all those newspapers for free!

Is this really a thread confirming everyone uses google?

google (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=where+do+I+look+things+up%3F&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official)
