Title: Onyxia Without a Dwarf Priest
Post by: TeaLeaf on March 22, 2006, 09:07:15 AM
For the record:

Last night, without any Dwarf Priest we took down Onyxia with ease. :D

So it can be done - just as it was done in the early days of our raids when we had no dwarf priests in the guild!  So there's no need to whisper Luthor for FW now ;)

Ye we did great yesterday. From the view of an offtank:

- Basiscally what I did what building up as much agro as I could, without getting to close to the MT's Threat.

- As warrior we have 2 abilities to prevent / remove fear; berserker rage and recklessness.
     - Berserker rage, becoming immune to Fear and Incapacitate effects and generating extra rage when taking damage. Lasts 10 sec and has a 30 second cooldown.
         - Recklessness will cause the warrior to score critical hits with almost everything he does, makes him immune for fear, and increases damage taken bij 20%. Lasts 15 seconds and has a 30 minute cooldown.

- Everytime the fear comes, and the 30 second berserker rage allows it, MT switches to berserker stance, and uses berserker rage,

- If the MT's berserker rage is on cooldown, I used mine, so Onyxia went straight for me, and moved into MT's position till MT had the Agro back, so that no one would be affected bij her breath.

- Only in emergency situtations the MT should uses recklessness, since it's increases our damage taken.

If the fear doesnt come to often, this is al really easy to do without a single fearward. ^^

Great job people!

just for the info, switching to beserker stance to use the rage could be fatal, remember you take 10% extra dam when in that stance, and if she scores a crit well you know the rest ;)

Well... it could be done on a tank rotation. When the MT gets feared, MT2, who is in berserker stance, hits berserker rage to prevent being feared, he then switches to defensive stance and tanks Ony. Then the MT1 takes MT2 place and repeat :)

Nice Idea, but MT2 will never get enough threat to keep Onyxia on him...why do you think we hold a 3% agro stop in the beginning anyway.:)

actually he can..

thats what me and rag were trying to achieve lately, using that meter mod, i start hitting before the permission to hit goes out, so that way ime always the 2nd on the aggro list, and if i get too much aggro ille stop for a bit then continue again, It CAN be done :)
