Title: Healing/buffs in raids
Post by: Padding on March 26, 2006, 11:30:57 PM
Lately there was been lots of criticism of healers and buffers in the raids. People seem to never stop nagging the healers for buffings before fights and the wipes on the healers.

We need to stop blaming certain groups in the raids about wiping, when we know that all people in the raid are working their utmost to keep the raid going on. Its easier to blame the healers, since it "seems" to be their fault, but infact they may have problem healing for various reasons like LOS etc. No matter what its not very constructive, and will not get us further in the raids as we want.

Just a heads up about how blessings are given out since not all people seem to know this:

Paladins buff (Wisdom, Light, Kings, Salvation) pr. CLASS - lasts 15 min and CANT be cast single person
Mages buff (AB) pr. GROUP - lasts 60 min
Priests buff (POF) pr. GROUP - lasts 60 min
Druids buff (GOTW) pr. GROUP - lasts 60 min

Its important that you know this, since its really annoying for paladins that they get whispers to buff a group, when we can only buff all whole class in the raid with the 15m blessing. Unfortunately since blizzard made it that way, we will keep buffing all the warriors, and it will be up to each warriors to remove the buff themselves, thats just the way it is, and we cant help it until blizzard change it.

Please be a bit more lenient towards the healers/buffers in the future, and if you need to criticise, then criticise constructively.

no lets not blame sinap, lets not put the blame on anyone lets just STOP THE TANGO NAGGING AND BITCHING

i have had more then enough of this issue where everybody just says it was the the healers or the buff me buff me

when teaelle is working on tactics over TS we pallys hold our buffs
they only last 15 min and if teaelle or anyone else is working on something important we need to wait on we will not buff but we will buff afterwards b4 the fight starts
in the paladin channel the buffs will be "handed out" to a paladin who has the best spell for a blessing, and also if we see a blessing not beeing cash we will react on that and shoot a tell to the pally who should cast it
so there is no reason to begin nagging even b4 we start to get ready for pulling

as for healing, not everybody will get heals, we need to set prioritys
if say vaelstraz does a flame breath FIRST the tanks get heals THEN the ourself and after that we will heal any DPS class so use potions bandages or what ever to keep alive for a few seconds till we get to you cos DPS aint no good when you have no tank or healers in most fights

are you totally 1000% sure about that? because after the patch, i did ask for a single bos buff, and i Did get it (this happened 2-3 weeks ago@ony)

single buffs are possible, but they last only 5 min.

other then that same as we did w/ complaints about other classes lets not do this anymore, it works there so it should work here. (ofc there is nothing wrong with asking for a buff after you died, or after the buffing and you are still missing a buff )

About buffing in general: we have to trust that those who buff, will keep up the buff; at the beggining of a raid, when expired, after a wipe. It's the buffers responsibility to get people buffed and keep the buff up. Therefore it shouldn't be necessary for anyone to ask for buffs.

Sadly it was my experience (and others too), when with RG2, that people DON'T keep up buffs - especially when someone has been dead. You could ask 5 times for a buff without getting it. That it just not good enough!! :ranting:

in defence of these people, for most this was the first "major raid" or MC raid at least and are not yet used to this system of buffing

hope this will get better soon

Think the only pally iv nagged at is Ekzete, but thats becasue he kept giving me BOW as a warrior :P I will personally only ask for a buff that I dont have, if I dont have it right before a pull. For example, last night on the Vael pulls, twice I didnt have a MOTW as we were just (in a few seconds) about to pull. So I asked nicely on TS, and got one there and then.

As a warrior, I know we get annoyed when we die, as tanks, as normally, if a tank dies when he shouldnt, its probably gonna end the try and result in a wipe. Sorry if we seem to be getting on at people, but we wanna get kills :)
