I just got upgraded to a motorola SLVR L7
It looks and feels good but is'nt robust enough for me (plus all the menu commands are back to front for me)...so it's back to the trusty Nokia 5140

as for the keys and the menu system.. nothing beats nokia, same goes for battery life, mobile lifetime and value for money..

my old 3310 lasted for 3years.. never had any problems with my battery and it only went bad cos the antenna got corroded..

then i got a seimens and a parasonic.. they both died within that same year..

now ive got a nokia 2100 and it lasted for 2-3years already now

so for me.. nokia is the obvious choice

Well I've only used Nokias and they all got weird after some time. My 6250 is extremely paranoid now. I will only let me know that someone has tried to call me when it feels like it, it reboots at random, the display goes on and off when it feels like it - and it has never been near water or such. But okay, I doubt the life span has been calculated to more than 5 years anyway  <_<

AFAIK Sony Ericssons are more reliable on that part.

check if its clean from the inside for the call problems,

and about the reboot problem.. yeah ive encountered some ppl with that problem, have you tried to repair it?

p.s humidity can be a problem, thats what corroded my 3310 antenna

I have cleaned the inside of it a few times now.

Repair it how? I have considered having it serviced but the price of servicing would be not too far from buying a new and better phone :)

Yeah I fear that would be the case. It has never been wet, but maybe moist in the air over time or something...

I'm the same. I got a very strange look when I went into the shop to buy my last phone (about a year ago) and specified that I didn't want a camera phone. Not just that I wasn't bothered, but that I didn't want one, because it just makes the phone bigger and I wanted something that could fit nicely in the pocket of my trousers along with my wallet. Ended up getting a Nokia 6100 (http://images.techtree.com/ttimages/story/Nokia-6100.jpg)

I just lost my Nokia 6280 a few weeks ago. Bought my self a good old Nokia 6100. Its thin, handy, small and most of all reliable.

Went to a danish distributor and bought a whole new shell (cover and the phone frame), new microfone, new speaker and a new pad. All in all around â,¬30 and ive got a brand new phone now.

Spare parts for your mobile phone costs next to nothing and you can actually replace them yourselves. For my Nokia 6100 it just required a torx screw driver. You can replace everything on the phone yourself. Just remember to do it in an ESD safe environment.

We got it unlocked so I could use it but it decided to break after a month tops. I had to down grade to my Nokia 3510. It's not even colour :taz:
