Title: SoG FTP Access
Post by: Othbarty on March 31, 2006, 11:51:39 AM
Quoteftp://sog:DAVE@asterix.serveftp.org (ftp://sog:DAVE@asterix.serveftp.org)
FTP adress: asterix.serveftp.org (158.38.93.24)
FTP user: sog
FTP password: DAVE

The server uses TLS encryption, so you will need a FTP-client that supports it

I have fixed the disk on the server making the somewhat low diskspace a little higher. Its now 2GB available disk space. I am gonna move stuff to other disks making more room for the stuff you want to put up there. If you want, i can also host a webpage on the server.

The link is a wireless link going around 30-60Mbit atm, so dont expect the best speed  :P

I have uploaded WoW-1.10.0-enGB-patch.exe on it, and everybody is welcome to upload anything to it :) (Altho not anything...)

If you experience a problem, let me know, and ill try to fix it.

And remember, its a service i offer to the guild.. Not your friends :P Please dont abuse it ;)

Its really simple :)

Im happy to supply config files if you want it.

The server is a PIII 633MHz running Gentoo Linux 2.6.15-gentoo-r1 kernel (Which is a Bit*** to set up) but if you got a box with linux, the simplest FTPd ive configured to date is ProFTPd (http://www.proftpd.org) its a piece of cake ;)

I've used File Zilla before, never set one up on it, but could access servers very easily from it, shouldnt be too hard to make one either.

Tried it abit now, and it actually IS easy to set up. You just add users and groups, and then add folders to the users/groups. it has the ability to use SSL/TLS if you have a certificat too.

Upload anything :) I can make it available through http too if you want.

Neff:
Just leave 127.0.0.1 in there as you open the config-util on your own computer. Enter a password too ;)

Sure, add me to msn Oth/ Bob , you seem to know stuff  bungiebunny@hotmail.com :) Then i can give you an account ,ip and password. If it all works out i could've given out special accounts to officers, making them able to edit stuff in f.ex SilverOakGuardians folders:)

Its on port 21, but it requires a encrypted connection, TLS/SSL to be precise.

I'll PM you some aditional helping stuff ;)
