Post by: Jamoe on April 03, 2006, 11:22:09 AM
Anyone recommend a good earbud set to replace my ipod earbuds? The left ear piece has gone dodgy and its making m feel dizzy :).

Looking for durable and great sound.

Cheers

I've got a set of these (http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=MDR-EX71SL&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=Overview&category=HEA+Walkman) and they're great :D

I've seen too many bad reveiws on Amazon regarding these, soemthing about qualty or the wire sheidling in that it isnt very lasting.

Hows yours holding up? How long have you had them?

I have some sennheiser mx400 ear-bud things. Vastly better (imo) to the ipod ones and have held up for, um, a year or two so far. Only thing I've lost are the foam cover thingies but I hate those anyway :) set of these can be had for around a tenner I think, possibly less :)

about 6 months now. use them on the beach as they fit under a full face helmet (flush fitting in the ear) which is really nice. That's the only reason I got them tbh. They do get abused, but I've only used them a few times so can't say for sure on how long they'll last.

They look the same as Sn00ks, but his are white.

He has lost all the shielding on the cables, it just turned to a putty like substance and fell off.

He's looking for replacements too, in the meantime he has put his own shielding around them.

Not sure if the black ones have the same problem, but he does like the sound and fit of them.

Yup all the sleeving went yuck!
I've been loking the the Shure e2c (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7349.htm) ones.
After I tried the in-ear Sony ones I really liked the improved bass and reduced external sound. I can have the volume on my iPod at about half and it is still plenty load enough to have on the bus. Also you don't get all the sound bleeding out and annoying the other passengers. One thing I can't stand is some pimply little kid with their stereo so 'kin' load that I can hear the rubbishy pants they are listening to.  :ranting:
