After almost seven years of pootling about in a Saxo VTS, I decided a change was in order.
So on Saturday I picked up my new toy (http://www.amethyst.plus.com/S2000_3.JPG), and have been grinning ever since. :D
Next step: get some advanced driving tuition sorted out, before I throw it through a hedge backwards.
Nice ride. Mono will go nuts when he hears that you have bought an S2K 8) ...
MMmmm thats yummy :dribble:
Health to enjoy! :D
Lovely motor,
my only advice FWIW, if your not used to RWD, respect the throttle when you go around corners/roundabouts etc particularly in the wet/ice - i've seen a lot of rwd cars stuffed into hedges and lose it on roundabouts because the owners are used to driving FWD.
Best part ........... Push big red button to start :D

Wise words indeed mate!
In fifteen years of driving, I've spent practically all of them behind the wheel of FWD cars of some description or another. Aside from being RWD, this wee beastie is also the most powerful car I've ever owned, and I definitely recognise the limitations in my driving experience. I'm being uber-cautious with it at the mo.
I'm thinking of doing a course with a company called RideDrive (http://www.ridedrive.co.uk), once I've got used to it a bit more.
Did you get rid of your well-quick MX5 and go with the BMW you were thinking about in the end?
and I bet that still gets more miles to the gallon than mine does!!!! (notice how pissed off I am at the £175 - £200 I spend a month just to get to work!!!!
Girl, get in and floor it. There's no feeling like coming off a roundabout with your foot glued to the floor and snaking up the road leaving skids on both tarmac and trouser.
Get out there and tank it.
Lovely Jubbly - have fun :D

M8, that would probably be the best spent money you've ever spent! It could save your life and will also be immense fun. I've still got my mx5, just had it mot, sending it to garage to sort out a bit of rust on the sills then its going up for sale for about £3500, which makes me shudder, when I have receipts for over 10k just 2 years ago - but after 8 years its time for a change and yes I'm still looking into BMW's - 330Diesel e46. My mate has an S2K and he loves it.
What year is yours?
:dribble: nice car!
£3500 for an uprated mx5 eh? Someone'll be happy about that too! ...until they see th insurance and tax quotes ;)
...damn my student budget

It's an '02 plate GT with 23000 miles on the clock. First registered June 2002.
One of my mates had a 330d as a company car, and hated to see it go when he downsized to an A3. The engine in those things is phenomenal, probably the best diesel plant out there at the moment. Bags of torque, good top speed,
and 42 mpg! :)

Insurance with AON isn't as high as you'd think - group 12 plus mods - 380 for me with unlimited mileage, though I'm 36 with full NCB. Still not bad for a car thats quicker than a Boxster S.
Just remembered I have another friend with an S2K, she's 58, and loves yellow... she's got 2 yellow mx5's and then last year sold her BBR turbo mx5 and bought you guessed it... a yellow S2K - she's quite mad :D

I'm sure you already know this but just in case... The S2K doesn't come with traction control. Please be carefull in the rain until you get used to the power and throttle.
I highly recommend advanced instruction for cars like this. I've been on two ProDrive days with my Rex and I have a track day at Thruxton later this month. Quite addicting..
NF
WHAAAT!!! Man, it's not fair... That car is on the top5 of my favourites (I'm a big Honda nut), but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one here in Denmark.
Congratulations mate!!
Expect a lot of begging from my part around the next LAN to come pick me up in Stanstedt :D
And here i am, getting my new toyota corolla verso tomorow. :dummy:
Nice car m8 when can i try it :dribble:
Have fun and don't let the cops get you. 8)
