Help, I have a problem with multiplayer BF2
After I have been playing for a bit then my computer crashes.
It is usually when I die for the second time! no matter how I die! it doesn't make a diffrence if im in a big fire fight, if i step on a mine or even run myself over! All of these have caused my PC to crash!
This doesn't happen at all in singleplayer!!! I can play for ages without it crashing and can run myself over many times with a varity of vehicles without crashing!
HELP
Very, very weird. Haven't heard of this at all.
I'll see what I can find and will check the forums I'm on for this problem.
see why im stuck, its not dirvers or hardware as it would cause a much more promanent problem than this.
Tried reinstalling?
What does your event log say?
Shouldnt this happen at the LAN? Surely this is a little early.

Looks like he's got you pegged Sheepy lol
PEN
This is a fresh install that was patched up and the I started playing on it. NO IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN AT THE LAN!!!
I have had 3 lans in a row without a rebuild!!! its just that the first 7 all had some sort of rebuild from me!
You haven't got the 'permanent death' option ticked under gameplay have you?
well if that was ticked then i wouldnt be spawing the secound time
its not just BF2 now! its allso NFL madden!
Hmm that makes me think it might be a configuration type problem. Have you recently changed any settings? I tried over-clocking my PC a while back but it kept crashing whenever I loaded up BF2, everything else seemed OK. I reverted it back and it still kept happening. What I didn't notice was that I had under-clocked it when I reset it  . I then set everything back to normal and hey presto all fine and dandy.
Might be worth checking your BIOS settings and also updating or even regressing your drivers.
Good luck!
ill have a look at drivers again.
all the drivers are standard that come with BF2
Get the latest drivers for you card and check your BIOS settings, e.g. memory and CPU speeds are right.
there is no way the memory and cpu speeds are wrong, ive never changed them!
It does appear to be (crossed fingures) all sorted.
Mr Bicycle-Repair_Man to the rescue!! :dribble:
that is what I call cursing something!!!!!!!!!
It crashed lastnight.

Did you receive any error messages?
I've been checking a few forums but couldn't find anything related.
nope no error message, just switches off my monitor and i hear a very fast cliking sound
You know I was having similar problems with my PC. For some reason it would lock up and emit a screeching sound from the speakers..
It was my motherboard that was crapping out on me. Once I changed that I was good to go.
From the topic title I first thought that this topic had been accidentally place din here instead of the DMR section. I was thinking "look where you're going and use your damn brakes idiot! Then you won't crash!"
TL.
It does sound like a hardware problem now. Maybe something is overheating and tripping the thermocouple, PSU maybe? Is it still all OK in single player, can you play that OK for a significant length of time?
Cooling is good,
even when it crashes cpu temp probe reads less than 40 degees.
on the out side of the heatsink it is still cold enough to hold on to!
this has never crashed when playing CS, has only ever crashed a couple of times playing Madden
