What are the requirements for BF2? i.e. does it have to be logged on or what?

I don't think it works as Steam.
Just make sure you've got the latest patch and then you'll be fine. Will check tonight to be certain unless someone else knows.

Make sure you have an 'Offline' account that has a name you want to use for the LAN. Create a new one if you're not sure ...

From the login screen:

Manage Accounts
Create Account
Accept Terms
Singleplayer

This will create a new account but the controls and video settings will have default settings. So you now need to go to ...

My Documents
Battlefield 2
Profiles

The folder with the highest number will be the one you just created. Look in the other profile folders and open up the 'Profile.con' file with Notepad to find an account that you know has the video and controls setup as you want them. When you've done this, copy the video.con and the controls.con files into the new profile, over-writing the existing ones.

You're good to go. :)

I'll move this topic into the LAN section.

A few questions from the above just to help me :). Are the multiplayer and singleplayer accounts seperate? I.e. i have a bf2 online account so can i use the same username for the offline account? If the the latter is possible how do we  transfer our stats or are they present as it is the same account? Or is it just a brand new account from scratch with no stats with a seperate account to my online account. The last question was does the offline account have to be setup whilst online or can it be setup whilst offline with no internet connection?

Thanks

GM
