after just getting on my new very fast connection there appears to be a problem!
My internet hasn't worked since Thursday evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I checked everything my end found everything was fine so called BT.
1st thing I said was "I have checked everything this end and it is all fine, there is a problem with the line!"
after 50 mins of pointless tests at my end the bloomin woman on the other end said " theres nothing wrong at your end so I shall raise a complaint and we will get the exchange checked out!, we will get back to you on tuesday or wednesday!!!!!!"
wth takes so long??????? then she said that BT don't have control over the excahges! who does if not the phone company!"!!!!!!!!!
have you thought about other games Sheepy?
Something like noughts and crosses, with a crayon. Less to go wrong.
You and moving parts don't mix.
yeap, and crayons taste good too. :dribble:
What happens now is a BT engineer visits the exchange, unplugs/ plugs back in something and ur internet will work. Then he will ring your wife/mum/tech noob etc and say there was nothing wrong and the fualt was yours... if only I had taken the call.
 I been having probs too and the same story .... nothing i can find at my end nothing wrong with the line it will cost £46 for a bt engineer to probably unplug/reconnect something in the exchange
Been with the same company 2 years and since i downgraded my package to one with less bandwidth had nothing but dropped connections or loss of synch in tech terms.
Its funny how it only started when i downgraded tho why would that be?????
Looking around for a new isp and might go with tiscali as its unlimited (subject to fair usage) and £14.99 a month. Anyone on Tiscali ? Any comments on their service good/bad?
Im with plusnet atm and was delighted untill i changed packages! Now at its worst it will drop me every 5 mins!
Want to play noughts and crosses???
I went with BT figuring that there is less to go wrong as the connection is with the same ppl that control the line!
saves me pingponging between bt and a provider if there is a problem.
Been with Nildram for >3 years now.. Not a problem.
NF

I may be wrong but I believe that BT the ISP and BT the phone company/exchange-operator are separate entities. They use it to pull in people the way you chose them. Both my parents chose BT as their isp and both had a run of trouble with their connections (months of problems) and received really poor customer support from BT. Both are now set up and working though, perhaps they'll ask my advice next time first
I simply took the connector box off the wall and plugged the modem /phone directly in to the line!
they still havn't called back since thursday!
