Hey all,
I have a logo which is an EPS file. It's an image with some overlaid text.
I open it in photoshop but I can't seem to edit the text at all.
There appears to be only one layer - does that mean it's all uneditable?
Thanks
PEN
Im no Uber photoshop god nor am i familiar with that file format but i wouldnt have thought so. To edit the text you would need to select the corresponding layer.
Saving a file compresses the layers and makes them 'flat'.
If i was you i'd wait 'til someone with more knowledge gives you a definitive answer. :dummy:
eps...I think you want a program called ghostscript...or ghostgum ...orboth. Should be freeware. They read "Encapsulated Post Script" which are typically destined for printers... I think adobe uses similar. Not sure if you'll be able to edit the text but worth a try?
edit: Ghostscript and GSview http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/ (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/)
it may well have been flattened to a simgle rastified(some word like that) layer and it then becomes just a bunch of pixels without any definite "text" elements...
Hi Pen,
Yes if theres only 1 layer showing in Photoshop you won't be able to edit it.
Have you tried opening it in Illustrator which allows you to alter vector images?
