Actually no, I was thinking, rebember, this is just an idea, please don't flame me.
Lately we been progressing quite fast in Blackwing Lair, and we're now even at Nefarian! :o This is a very nice job, but with the current raid schedule, we don't have that many chances to actually learn Nefarian.
Alot of our dear Raid Group 1 members, have almost all full to semi full tier 1 set, and alotta items from MC and Onyxia they want.
Wouldnt it be an idea, to like, stop Molten Core and Onyxia raiding, for say, 2-3 weeks, and focus on BWL instead.
For example:
- Thurdays:
BWL > Razorgore > Vael > Broodlord > Firemaw > Lab Packs
- Sundays:
BWL > Ebonroc > Flamegor > Chromaggus > Nefarian tries.
- Tuesdays:
BWL > Nefarian tries.
This way, we have more people wanting to raid an focus, because both Thursdays and Sundays will be involving loot, and we don't have to do that many bosses on 1 evening, which makes the raiding more relaxing, people can go to sleep earlyer, and you have still something to look forward too.
Also, since Vael is quite a random fight, this more time, will give us more time to even reach Nefarian for the week.
So, summary:
Cons:
- More time, no pressure
- No Boring MC grinding
- More tries on Nefarian
Flaws:
- People maybe not showing up tuesdays for Nefarian wipes.

I personally dont mind where we raid as long as we raid...although I really want my ToEP before we stop :)
ok MC is in farming status and many ppl have ALL what he want from MC and OL but maybe some1 forgot what r the "Guardians" duty, attendeance 2/3 raids a week was one of the 1th points and i'm pretty sure if we do 3 BWL a week the usual "i'm afraid of bills" dudes won't join on Nef evening.
Yesterday we had the worse MC run ever low attendeance poor focus and so on and this is not fair since some dude like Stront still need/want somethig or complete the tyer 1 set
And some people still need the tier 2 bits that drop of ragnaros. Not that I don't think its great that everyone has what they want and all, but I think it sucks that Stormrage has only dropped ONCE out of all the times we killed ragnaros. So if it wouldn't be too much to ask, I would like at least the chance to get my last drop from MC as well, and I'm sure there are a few other druids that feel the same.
Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have more time in BWL, but we would have had all of Tuesdays on Nefarian if people were more focused on Sundays.

Like, hold MC just for a little while, to have a few weeks extra focus on BWL, then continue with MC like we used to.
the officers have allready talked about this but then on a permanent basis once raid group 2 starts to move under its own power (as in gets its own raid leaders, which we are working on now) it might be a couple more weeks or even months, but then we want to drop MC alltogether and start going for naxxaramus or AQ40
This might be a good idea Dajo, I'll let you have that - BUT, not at this time - at least I don't think so :)
First about attendance:
As you've already said in this post (it's also a topic of this thread (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13869)), attendance has been a bit low lately. We have had low attandancie issues before of various reasons, but this time I think there is a big chance it's mainly because of RL things.
If you look at the majority of our member group, we are mostly students at various levels. Now the end of April and the whole of May (and perhaps also the start of June) is perhaps THE most busy months for students. We have lots of final exams coming up, and other stuff.
I for once have my post-graduate thesis due in a month, and in addition to that I have another big project to be turned in on the comming Tuesday. That makes me a heck of a bussy person these days, and as of now May is already at least 1 week to short already :(
When things are like this you can't force people to show up at raids (at least not me ;)), it wouldn't do anyboy any good at all.
Also, about you wanting to advance rapidly with Nefarian:
Like it is now, we're totally capeable to clear all of BWL up till Nefarian in one night if all in the raid stays focused. That will leave us with one whole raid day to train on him. I actually thing it's better for us to have fewer days to do BWL on, cause that we're kind of "pushed" to stay more focused and efficient when we're first there.
And also, I don't really see any big reason why we NEED to take him down as fast as possible.
Yes, I too do want to see that big bad dragon go down, but if it happens on the next Tuesday, or in one month, I really do not care to be honest :)
And also just to have mentioned that "skip MC" thingy and loot and stuff
Maybe we could do that at some point, but we're most definetly not ready for that now (at least so is my oppinion):
* There are still many people that haven't completed their Tier 1 sets (e.g. we're only two druids with full Cenarion now)
* There are many more items than just the sets to get from MC (I only have 1 epic among my rings, trinkets and neck pieces, so I at least feel like I need a major upgrade here, not to mentions that I really really really would like to get my hands on the Staff of Dominance ;))
* As Vargen mentioned, Ragnaros (and Ony as well) drop 1 Tier 2 item, and that many people still need
* The nexus crystals we get from DEing the epic items nobody needs is needed for enchants and stuff, and that alone should be a good reason to keep on farmin MC
That was it for me now, I have to go back to my group and continue on our project - still lots to do :huh:
I can't wait till the 2nd of June when it's all over - I'm gonna be back raiding 110% than :D
I was building up a long post in my head, but now I don't have to. Threbrilith said it all. Totally agree with what he wrote there.
We could also think about allowing people to bring their alts to MC/OL instead of their mains if they are "done" with MC/OL. I'm pretty sure some people would like to get some epics for their alts. I know I would some time in the future, but atm I need to much stuff on the priest.
This will stay a hard topic i guess. You have ppl who are done and ppl who still want stuff. Personally i would say dont stop MC but do not do it every week or so. You could say like the first week is MC/OL and 2 BWL runs, the next week a tryout at AQ40 and 2 BWL runs and alternate between it. A problem with the MC runs can be for the ppl who have their stuff that it gets so boring that they wont join again and then you have even lower attendance for MC. And for getting alts to join, would that solve the problem or just get the lvl of the raid down? (no offence against alt but if i look at my priest and for example my paladin its a world of difference)

Of course it would bring the level of the raid down. But will it be a problem? I don't think so. We are only talking about MC/OL here. OL we can do with 25ish people and yesterday with did most of MC with 30 people (though Raggy might have been difficult).
Allowing alts would give people a reason to do MC after they have their mains decked out in all sorts of MC epics.
well if given the choise between a poorly equiped alt and not showing up main, i think id prefer the main. the problem for me personaly is that i got all the items i want from MC. and have had them for a while now. but then again i dont really want anything from AQ40 either (well rep for the ring would be nice. and maybe a gun that drops in there).
luna made a good point though we could do a rotating system. allthough id like to see that naxxramus (sp)

I'd vote for NOT to stop MC under any circumstances, there's still some loot there that cant be replaced by anything from BWL or other instances, Loot that some people need ;)
....and to reiterate, we are not talking about stopping MC for SoG.
Changes itn he raid schedule are always under discussion within Officer's channel and I am sure they will continue.

Do BWL every night and just like, do MC one afternoon or something, like saturday, I dunno.
well not to mention that the gold we get from killing stuff in mc is a sort of advance payment to the bwl wipes..and most importantly not to mention the di ore, cores, ele fire and other things we get, that Are also used in bwl.. !
we could always add another day back.. like it used to be before (talking bout friday) or we could try saturday? yeah some ppl go out but there are some who dont.. so why not give it a try.. we aint gonna loose anything
imo there is no point to add another day if we have low attendeance atm

i personaly just want some more time spended at nefarian because we all want it to progress the fight in a shorter time
